At the Atlanta Pet Fair I want to get a pair of bent shanks (probably Geibs). I am a lover of Kenchii and that's the only shears I have (not complaining) but really want to try some Geibs and I'd really like a pair of bentshanks. We'll see if I have the dough. There are some other things I probably need more but Geib bent shanks would be a treat for me.

Elizabeth the Sweetheart of Grooming World..

    Ah Beth,
You are so nice to me, and I am so looking forward to meeting you, so don't be surprised if I open the door and just squeeze you!!!!!!!

Thanks to you I am ordering my dryer earlier than I was planning, your advice and the links you sent me have made me decide to get it done! I can always upgrade in August and then have this one as a back up dryer, so it makes sense!

I will wait to place my order to Ren's until I hear about your assistant getting her gators, I was looking at the flyer yesterday and then I decided it is too good to pass up if they are decent, so if she likes them, let me know and I will order some too.
They also have some dryers on sale, so as long as I order before Feb 28th, I will be good to go...I am so excited, first getting to meet you, then getting a dryer...life is so good right now, I can hardly believe it.
So looking forward to Feb 1rst, and prepare to be squeezed!
    Lisa

I was devastated, but still using them and a few others that are not real grooming sheers, but just regular scissors that are making do for now.
Lisa! You are in luck! I have some older shears that I inherited and got sharpened last year but I haven't touched them.. I'll bring them when I visit. They're not much but it's probably better than the ones you have. Also, Rens has gators on sale right now.. like $56 for a pair of 8.5 curves. My employee bought them but hasn't received them yet but I'll let you know what she thinks when she gets them.

I wouldn't call it treating myself but...

I am hoping to order my "real" dryer next month. I am using a human blow dryer now and it is taking forever to get the dogs dry, so I am making the plunge! It won't be the highest end dryer, but one that will work for me, and maybe in August when I go to Ontario I will bring another home with me, when I have some decent money coming in, that way I'll have a back up dryer!

I hope everyone enjoys the treats they are getting, and happy shopping to all...I look forward to hearing what everyone is getting and hearing how they like it after they are using the treats they get!

I want to buy some new toys at Pasadena : ) I want more Geib blades and see if their teeny little curved shears will work to replace my Arius Eikerts that I guess are no longer made : ( I will also stock up on shampoo hopefully!

I just ordered the Oster blue titanium 8" curves and the 26 tooth blenders.. they were on a super sale. I don't own a pair of curves and I only have the Roseline shears and the Geib Entree thinners that were in my kit for school. This is my first step up to something nicer/different! I'm also ordering a new Les Pooch brush, pretty excited about my new toys!

Can't wait for the day I can get some Kenchiis!

the Pac. NW show is in March so I'll be spending plenty of money there on new tools...I'm just a tad whorish myself when it comes to shears and I've been helping others who need shears so I'm down to a bare minimum!
    I do like the Kenchii's.

    Anyone planning on treating themselves?

I decided I really need some more shears. I have 3 pair of curved, one 10 inch straight and one 8 inch straight. honestly, I use my curved for everything and my straights typically gather dust, but I only have one really nice pair of curved, the others are more back ups. OK, I think more my Kenchii Oscillots have gotten me spoiled and now my Scorpions and Entrees just aren't good enough for me! I've become a shear snob! Anyway, I decided I want to save up to buy some Kenchii Prodigy. I use to steal my co workers all the time, but now that I am on my own I can't swipe them from him anymore. Loved using them. of course he never minded. He had about 4-5 shear cases that fit 8 shears in them filled with Kenchii shears and most had at least 10 pair each, so it wasn't like he didn't have enough LOL. So this is what I'm planning on "treating" myself to eventually. I think I'll just save up tips until I have enough for them. I also really need some new thinners. I have two pair and the scorpions I have never did work right. I should really send them back because I think it's just this shear, it doesn't close correctly half the time.
So was wondering if anyone else had a plan to treat themselves to a new grooming tool or two? I'm also planning on becoming a member of the NEPGP. After going to their RI show I'd really like to support that group, it was such a nice show!
Working...
