I had a new client call last week that I spent a good deal of time with on the phone. She has a Sheltie that is a bit nervous and just wanted to, I think, get to know me a bit to feel comfortable. I scheduled her with my other groomer and told her that she was fabulous, that she would do a wonderful job and would be very good with her dog. She seems like an incredibly nice lady! Anyway, my groomer did the dog on Tuesday and when she came back she told me the owner wanted her to relay a message for her. She said the owner "wanted me to tell you that I am as fabulous as you said I was" LOL It almost seemed like she was a bit embarassed relaying the message LOL. She also said while she was there many of the neighbors called to see what all the hub-bub was about and asked for biz cards for their own pet. I have been SO fortunate to have found such a great employee. She's the best! Just like the brag about her!

Yes you are SO lucky. I have had folks ask me about hiring a groomer to just work on weekends but I am so fearful of hiring someone to represent me after seeing and hearing all the crazy stories about the groomers around here. How did you go about discovering this great groomer. Did you get her fresh out of school and finish the training yourself? Seems that good responsible groomers are hard to find. one more question: When you hired her did you have to have additional insurance to include her (liability, etc.)? Do your regular clients care which one of you does the groom? Thanks.~*~Robin~*~

I knew I would be very picky with whoever applied for a job. I was more concerned with handling skills, treatment of the pets and safety, but she's the whole package. I really lucked out! I wouldn't have hired anyone if I hadn't found someone that met my standards though. What a caterpillar considers the end of his world, we call a butterfly.
