As most of you know, my daughter went into the hospital and was there for 2 weeks. She is doing GREAT, just like having the old Lisa back again. It's really hard to believe the meds have made such a difference.
Any way, a couple weeks after she had gotten home from the hospital we got the bill from there. I opened it up and read it. Wow, that isn't too bad for a 2 week stay, $2,999.81, hospital had even given her just over a $1,000. discount because she didn't have insurance.
When she was first in the ER the nurse (or someone) had given us a form to fill out because she had no insurance. It's a financial form and if she meets the requirements (not having job, no insurance, no way to pay) than she would be able to use this. Well she of course met the requirements and her bills are being forgiven (not sure if that is really the right word to use) and she doesn't have to worry about them.
We received the letter today stating that she qualified and her $29,999.81 bill been taken care of.
I looked at that number again and thought they had really messed up! I thought for sure it was only $3,000.00. Hubby got out the old statement and sure enough it was the $29,999.81 amount!!!
If I had seen that number a couple of weeks ago, when we had first got the bill, I think I would have been put in the hospital myself, from suffering a heart attack!!
So Lisa is able to take a deep breath and not worry about that bill! So can we.
Guess the 2 week stay at the hospital is a little more than I thought!
Really is a great way to start the new year!!!!!!
