  • I turned 50 today

Well, not official till about 10pm. I thought this birthday would really bother me. But so far it has not. So, am I just waiting for the reality check? And tomorrow I wallow in Haggen Dasz and cry all day? Am I in denial? Except for my back pain, and a few wrinkles, I feel great.

How did all of you feel turning 50? All I see right now is AARP, Estate planning, etc. And I just want to go have some fun. It's the number that bothers me. It's like a countdown.
Help! Give me some pep talks PLEEEEEEEEZE!

It's just a number. List all the good things going on in your life right now-put 'em all in a column, then put" I turned 50"...doesn't look so big now does it? Enjoy the day and remember-the best is yet to come!!

        Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

Personally, I love being (over) 50!!! I can do whatever the heck I want! Oh, wait, maybe I mean I love having an empty nest, or maybe I love being single....and I'm no longer embarassed to do things on my own.

        The big 5 - 0 didn't really bother me. Menopause did though. anyway....Happy B-Day!!!

Put on your T-shirt that says "This is what 40 looks like!" or else start telling people you are 60--they will be begging you to sell them your secret!

              Ohhh no.....

              Hi Just kidding...

I am 48 and will turn 49 within a few months and if I really think about it ...Yes I get a little depressed!!! but you know what ! When I look in the mirror and hold my chin up!!! I think I really look okay for my age :} . Then I turn in-wards and see how I really feel, oh well I can get up from a squat with only hearing my knees pop alittle ... but you know if I take my time... I can do it!!!

So Don't worry we can do it!!!

For some reason 42 was the "anniversary" that bothered me the most. Just sounded so middle-aged or something.

Haven't been bothered by a number since then. You are as old as you let yourself be.

                  Happy Birthday Pudel.

I was all excited about turning 50...thought I'd wake up that morning all mature and stuff.
                  Didn't really happen. Oh well.

                    Happy Birthday

Being old is a state of mind.....I think anyway. Dr Oz says you are your chronological age and then the real body age. Hope your body is younger than the years you have been around. Start taking your Calcium and Vit D now, if you haven't already. Oh, and joint pills and, and oh, you know. Is Geritol still around? LOL

My last dog of the day was a pretty golden, when I got done with her, I wrapped my arms around her and lifted her down off the table,,,, Her mom, a much yourger woman looked at me kinda strange and gave me a $5 tip,,,Thats when remembered I was old & should have ask for help,,,,,hehehe. Go easy on the haggen dasz and instead of crying, go buy yourself some really good under eye wrinkle cream!

I was thinking the same thing when I turned 40 this past October......I'm still waiting. I don't really think I am going to survive the ski trip so maybe maturidy will never happen for me.

Happy Belated Pudel! Glad you aren't letting the fact of living for 1/2 a century get to you. Was their even electricity when you were born (ducking and running for cover.......)

Well, Today I feel great. No tears. I guess it is just a number.
I guess I'll go get some really good wrinkle cream. A professional massage would be nice. I'm just going to do something for ME.
Oh, yes there was electricity when I was born. But we had black and white TV, we had one phone that hung on the wall and had a rotary dial. & NO computers! How did we ever survive? LOL

                              Hey Pudel,
I remember my sister and I wanting to watch I Love Lucy on our new color TV. Sent our mom through the roof! Dad made us put the news on. Do you remember walking up hill to AND from school in driving snow storms? Wait, you have a few more decads to go before those memories start coming to you. Happy birthday!
