  • Migraine.....TODAY of all days....

I have to play Santa tonight, an hour from here at my mothers house. I have a shop full of doggies, and I have a FREAKING MIGRAINE. Started this morning, thought it was sinuses....no such luck. I am sick........

Oh how I can empathize. I had one last week and thankfully most of the grooms that day were just tidy ups. I thought I'd get ill and pass out on the table. Ughh. If I thought I could do it I'd have groomed with the lights off and sunglasses on with a icepack straped to my head. Going home is not possible as I'm the only one. I had barkers that day too. I don't know how I survived.

            good luck.

I get them all the time. Luckily the excedrin migraine works well for me. Stunk that I couldn't take it when i was pregnant, but now I am free to take it as needed, which unfortunately is fairly often. Nothing like trying to work with the head pounding, dogs barking and wanting to just go lay down in a cool dark quiet room. At least, thats what I want to do when I have one! Sound doesn't bother me as much as light does when I have them, and having to bed over, man, makes it feel like it's pounding harder!

                  Parti

Two things yoiu can do. #1 go to a drugstore and buy a netty pot. They really work for sinus headaches very easily. If for some bizarre reason it does not totally work. Get some EXCEDRIN that always works for me. Don't drink any more of that cheap wine. LOL

Really, I do hope you get relief asap. Netty Pot Honest. Go buy one!It is spose to go up and run out the other nostrel. Yucky concept but works.

I've been known to take 3, even 4 Excedrin within 30 minutes. It kills my tummy but the headache is gone. I don't do it often and the stomach lining gets very raw, but I prefer it to my head pounding. You just have to be fine tomorrow....you so deserve to have a super duper day, days off.

Excedrine Migraine for sure !! It also helps when my neck is too stiff and I can't sleep...oh what grooming does to our bodies...

Hope you got thru the day alright, Parti, and that Santa made a grand entrance!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Can;t take Excedrin Migraine as the caffeine in it and I do not get along. Not strong enough to do anything anyway. I have had them for 33 years, since I was 12 in fact and some of them knock me down for 2 or 3 days. This one was bad, but seems to be basically gone now. I keep Vicodin and Demerol onhand for them.....nothing else works. OH and Finnegan (SP) for nausea.....they get REALLY bad. I took meds for years to prevent them. Only worked moderately well. The Netti works great for sinuses but cannot see how it would work for Migraines. Please enlighten me.

I hate migraines. I am so sorry--I wouldn't wish such pain on anyone--it is so miserable. When I get one, I get depressed on top of it--it wastes and entire day that could be productive, no way around it-- and it is one of the most awful things to have to just sit and wait thru. I don't think I get them as badly as some people do when I get them--sometimes they make me throw up, but I've never had one last more than a day--so if I can sleep quietly,,I can get thru them. Thank god for Advil migraine and a can of Classic Coke--it does help me sometimes.

Windy, the depression is from "let down" because of the adrenaline produced when in pain wears off. I get it on the down slope of an anxiety episode.

Really? Hmmm, very interesting! I thought it was just because of my realizing that I was gonna waste and entire day getting nothing done!
