  • staticky coat

what have you used on maltese' staticky coats? years ago, before I knew better, I sprayed static guard on my blades and combs (a helpful hint passed on from a groomer long ago). I like to try new shampoo and conditioners so any suggestions will be put to the test.

Yep, I really like CC Ice on Ice and I also like to use Show Season's Leave In Conditioner.
Lately I've had so much humidity I haven't had to worry too much about static.
Hey my hair's been staticky lately wonder if I could use a little Ice on Ice on my hair?? Hmmm

The only thing I've tried that works 100% without a nasty smell is Bio Groom Anti Static spray. Google it, it's inexpensive and lasts forever. I couldn't groom without it!

          Ring 5 Coat Gloss

My fave - better than Bio Groom, better than The Stuff - mild smell, not heavy or greasy, calms the coat. Have used it for years.

I use it on my hair. My hairdresser is always impressed on the condition of my hair and how well my hair colour has lasted. No static either. LOL

Good stuff. But I do get vexed by this; if Ice on Ice is consistently improved by the addition of Day to Day, why the /bad word/ don't they just change the formula to include that?

I like CC Ice on Ice for static control. The addition of the Day to Day is nice for drop coated breeds, but I don't like it in the show ring on my coated dogs as I feel it ways the hair down too much. It is very moisturizing though.

This one is cheap and it works well. A bottle will last you roughly three hundred and seventy million years.

this was long ago when I worked at home and had a very small clientele, mostly friends and family. the static guard did seem to help with the static but I'm sure it must have left build up on the coat. as far as my tools. I never thought about it. they did wear out pretty fast. could be a compination of sprays and dirty coats.

yes I have used this in the past great for brush outs as well for all breeds especially the longer flowing coats ,However I have switched to all natural products and use natures specialty quicker slicker .I never seem to have static issues.. I have found though this can be ones personal static energy transferring to the dogs coat as odd as it sounds its true.A co worker and I had an experiment one day due to her scissors collecting hair as she scissored on her dogs,She blamed the scissors.I don't have that issue so I lent her mine, the hair clung to my scissors in her hands and yet when I used her scissors again no hair clinging to them in my hands. so I told her she must be a cling-on lol
