  • Help!!!

I start a new job tomorrow and my clippers are going absolutely insane!

They are so loud! They are newer too, only a few months old.

The model is an Oster PowerPro Ultra 78400-01A.. It is the corded version.

I left the box with all the instructions at my other work..

I've blade washed every blade, and oiled them. Along with cleaning them all, including the clippers, with the little black brush it comes with.

About 5 of my blades are newer, and they're the Cryogen Oster blades, those ones are much louder than all the other ones.

I was having trouble clipping with one too today.

This happened out of nowhere! I was just grooming a dog, put the clippers down to do some scissoring.. Picked them back up, and they were as loud as a chainsaw! The dog wouldn't let me near her anymore with it!!

Please help.. So that I can do good tomorrow!!

sounds like the screws are loose. The metal part that you attach your blade to.See if it wiggles. If it does check the screws. If they are loose it will make the blade clack and your clirppers will not clip well.

This will not help you now but....

I always have a back-up pair of clippers. A few years ago when we were getting my daughters lamb clipped to show at the fair the night before, the clippers would not work. Lucky for us my husband was home and was able to fix them. If the lamb was not clipped she would not be able to show her 4-H lamb. After that, I bought a 2nd set of clippers, not cheap, but at least I had peace of mind that if something went wrong the show would go on. Call me paranoid, but I have not forgotton that and make sure if I'm clipping a dog and something goes wrong with the clippers, or blades, I have a back-up set.
