It works well for topnots and "butt bows" too. Had a client in today who was so thrilled that the Halloween bow was still in place. Way to go!

I'm jealous....I still can't do those silly things!

I've just gone to bandannas and tying a bow around the neck.

pixie -- it's too easy using hemostats! once you wrap the elastic around your bow a few times, slip the tips of the hemostat under a couple rounds of elastic. open hemostats slightly and gently grab hair, twist out or use comb to pull hair all the way through elastic, then comb smooth.

              Hurray!!

Good for you! I have one client that LOVES bows on her dog and if one of the bows falls out (cause her dog rubs her face on the carpet) she calls me and tells me what happned. As if I'm going to run over there and replace it! I'm doing it this way next time! I just don't like using such a long peice of hair. I find the ears get a little mat where the bow has been.

Pixie, keep trying, if I can do it, anyone can do it!!!!

I need to work on that

Ugh - tried the hemostat thing, need to practice more - I've always just put them in by hand, but I'm sure the hemostat method could get them in more securely.
