I have been doing some research on natural shampoos and soaps for people, and I've noticed most of the ingredients are the same as the shampoos I use for grooming. I use mostly Kelco products in my shop and really like them. I have even used their oatmeal shampoo on my own hair, I love the scent! Have any of you used these products for your own hair, and are they just as good as the natural products made for human use?

Dog shampoos for humans?

I use
Filthy Animal on one of my shampooings. I have oily hair and three shampoos per time at least every other day. I use a cheap shampoo to get rid of hair spray etc. first. Then the Filthy Animal which leaves my hair a bit shiney/limp but it gets the oil out. Then I use a "for oily hair" clarifying shampoo last. I guess because I have always had oily hair I hate any oily look. I find it amazing that young people are putting some kind of oil to make their hair all greasy and stringy looking, lol.Money will buy you a pretty good dog but it won't buy the wag of it's tail.

I've used several different shampoos on my own hair. I was having horrible reactions to the different products I was using at home so I figured what could it hurt... Haven't had any problems since....hum maybe that's why I'm a groomer... secretly part dog. LOL"I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt,

I do believe in some cases natural dog shampoos are less harsh than those made for us

this one is for those with school aged children(gross but true unfortunately) .Back when my kids were small in Elementary school My youngest was in kindergarten about this time,There was a young boy who rode my daughters bus he continuously had head lice ,the school refused to force the parents of this child to make him nit free until returning to school as they did for all other children in this school.SO unfortunately all the kids on this bus and in this boys classroom contracted head lice on a daily basis ,which meant delousing our kids on a weekly basis. My daughter had thick curly hair down to her butt and was a nightmare to not only comb but to remove any or find any nits took hours to finish. It was so bad and so often treating my daughter with special shampoos(pesticides )very unhealthy for a child or anyone for that manner.None the less something had to be done short of shaving her head bald.after countless trips to the Dr.s and pharmacy, I took this matter into my own hands and nipped it in the bud for good. Tropiclean neem shampoo.my kids washed their hair in this shampoo(diluted of course).but I found it stopped the cycle all together the smell of the neem repelled the nasty bugs.and my kids stayed free of them for the rest of the school yr.The next yr I transferred them to a new school. No more issues ever again.

That is such a good idea. I've been fortunate, no lice here, but I realize it's due to good luck, and nothing else.

I use Whole Foods brand people shampoo for the first rinse, Tropiclean Spa Colors for Brunettes, then Laube Silk n Silk as my conditioner. I looooove the silk n silk. I'm letting my hair grow out after about 8 years of keeping it short, and I've found that there is NO catching at ALL when I brush my hair. That's the main reason I've never gotten anywhere every other time I've tried to let it grow. As soon as I get a couple of months out, my hair starts to catch in the brush. OUCH! After years of never having that problem, one tiny catch is enough to chop it off again. But my hair is sooo easy maneagable with the silk n silk. I just hope it stays that way the longer it gets.
The best conditioner I ever used was actually Desert Sudz Remoisturizer when I worked with a chain shop. It made my hair softer than any people conditioner ever had. Shame the unscented only comes in gallons.

Not only is this a public health issue, but can you imagine the home life that poor child had? If the lice were bad for your kids, do you think they were any better for this boy?

Guess what. There isn't a seperate list of ingredients for dog shampoo. Shampoo is shampoo. At the time, I often use dog shampoo. I like Groomer's Edge Emerald Black. I dye my hair, and it counteracts any brassyness. I also use Refurbish, because I dye my hair and it's a great moisturizing conditioner.
In the past I used to use horse shampoo. And to be honest, it was great. I actually think I liked it the best.

I could not change how things were handled on their end I took care of it on mine.15 yrs ago We didn't sue for every complaint We had We didn't call the media when We didn't get our way,The state did not always jump when they were called and if by chance they did the rest of us were not informed if anything was done about it. As for the home life that child had was the biggest excuse they gave for their actions or non actions. none the less the neem worked wonders lol.. oh yeh and she never got fleas lol
