  • Christmas Cookies

Christmas cookies...customer brought me a HUGE plate of homemade cookies...BUT..
she is just getting over the H1 N1 flu and she is still coughing..... (sigh)...
I wanted to eat them BUT now I'm afraid to. Suppose the virus can still be on food??? They say the flu can be carried by the dogs..looks like I'm doomed either way..????

Plexi...spray 'em w/ Lysol. Purple can tastes the best.

      That's

a crummy predicament. For likely she placed the cookies on the plate. Otherwise I'm sure the baking killed any germs but? You still have the dog, though if you popped it in the tub and bathed it, your hands getting washed as you bath that might be safe.

      What a gift?

My mouth is watering just thinking about a plate of homemade cookies. lol
I feel so bad for ya.

I would probably say a prayer over the cookies and ask the Lord to keep them safe and chow down on them! LOL

viruses don't just live on inanimate surfaces for indefinite periods of time. Look up how long h1n1 does. I think I heard it was like 24 hours but I'm not sure.

For one thing, she's probably no longer contagious if she felt well enough to bake. But to be on the safe side, don't crush 'em up and snort 'em up your nose. Eating them shouldn't be a problem.

                Enjoy.

If we had fears of every germ or virus that we come in contact with on a daily basis we would all be grooming from a plastic bubble.. just eat the damned cookies! lmao :P you can sanitize your mouth with a mikes thingy that is so popular on this board

LOL.. I'm SUCH a germaphobe, that I would have had them wrapped in plastic, then in 2 or 3 garbage bags then thrown out into the dumpster before her car was out of the parking lot!! Then I would have broke out the lysol and sprayed everything she touched, and then some.. lol.. I've got issues.. I know....(hehehehehehehe)

When i had the swine flu my doctor told me as long as I was still coughing I was contagious, even though I felt much better. If she's out and about coughing I wouldn't be happy about it.

I would eat em. Especially good Christmas sugar cookies frosted with buttercream frosting. Yummmmmmmmmmm. I don't care how sick the baker was, I would be inhaling those suckers and worrying about it later.

                          I think

we all get carried away with the precautions, but I have to tell ya, I pulled up to a home a month ago to find a not on the door that the family had H1N1 but she'd hand me the dog. Well, OK, so I'm already there, she came to the door with a face mask, came out and handed me the dogs leash. I took it, but when I got in the rig, the dog went right into the tub, and the leash (and collar)got a once over with hand sanitizer. I then did a antibactirial wipe over the dog, and let her sit for a few minutes. (Yeah, Overkill?)

Then bathed and groomed as normal. I took her back to the door, lady handed me a check and took the leash. I went back out to the rig and wiped off the check with an antibacterial wipe. then did my hands too! No I didn't have any issues. But I have all the stuff in the rig just in case.

The antibacterial wipe I used was one that you pick up in the pharmacy area, for such as a peri-wipe, or for skin. Not the kind you use on a counter.
