this one was a new one corny but cute, and a tear jerker when he took the dog back to the shelter and that song came on you know the song they play thru the aspca commercials that song gets me everytime ,we enjoyed it but hubby and kids went to bed,so i was surrounded by my 7 cats and 6 foster kittens, and my 2 dogs, and an old beagle im fostering they seemed to enjoy it too

I didn't see that one but so far since Thanksgiving I've seen Elf, The Santa Clause, Jingle all the Way, and some movie where a single business woman crashes her car and wakes up a wife and mother of 2...at Christmas of course. I always set my dvr to take all the Christmas type movies this time of year. Gets me in the holiday mood.

I really enjoyed it. Love those "corny" tear jerkers. They came on at the end to say you could go to Hallmark.com and find a shelter in your area where you could take a pet home for Christmas and bring it back after-just like in the movie. Don't know if that is such a good idea with all the hubbub of the holidays, but if it helps pets get a forever home, then ok with me.

          Groom on!!!

That Lifetime movie with Joe from The Facts of Life! LOL, I made my husband start watching this with me in bed, but we both fell asleep. How did it end??

I watched it too. I have also read the book. The bestest part is that the book is so small how could they not follow it? They actually followed the book very well. It was corny, but sometimes simple movies help me keep a bit grounded.

I watched it and thought it was great! Of course I love corny. I'll watch anything that has a dog in it.

I watched it also. Rather cute. Didn't cry.

The movies that make me cry are Lassie Come Home(Elizabeth Taylor) Old Yeller and the Indcredible Journey.

We love all the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies and watch them every time they come on...including last nights "A Dog Named Christmas." I thought it was sweet.

I agree, the show is cheesy, but what are our other choices? Seems we have to choose between soft porn and gory murder shows, lol. Hollywood has lost its ability to entertain without the "complementary" sex scene. They think they can't make us laugh without it either. I beg to differ. While I can laugh at it, it still makes me pause. "Can they not make us laugh without it?"

OT but we saw a comedian, "Gary Mule Deer" on our cruise in August, and he was downright HILARIOUS, one of the funniest people I've ever seen. Not ONE dirty nasty joke. I told him later, too. I said, "You know, you have a talent that is so rare these days. You can make people laugh without a single dirty joke." He's on Letterman every year, couldn't be too bad!

But I liked the Dog named Christmas, and the song that they played in the shelter makes me cry everytime.

The song: In The Arm Of An Angel", of course thats all I get out of this thread! Yes I watch all the corney movies, but my life is a corney movie, just got 2 chi chi's this saturday, mom has ovarian cancer, is 89 years old, family comes down here from NY and puts grandma in nursing home (here) which I don't get , and drops 14 yr old chi chi with her 4 yr old sis to me. Give me $50.00 dollors and say thanks for the yrs and off to NEW YORK with no care!
I'm stuck trying to find home for these darling scared little creatures. I would keep sept I already have 6 of my own and all but 1 was adopted!
So, chi chi #1 is 14yrs scared and pissed and never hardly been out of her home and has NO not one teeth!
chi chi #2 is 4yrs same postion but not as scared and I've worked on taking her outside for first time in her little life, and her teeth are rotting!
They have never been outside, indoor pad trained! UGGHHH
I can't just give them to anybody, whoever I give one or both needs to understand their special needs.
I would keep but my 6 is all I can handle veterinary wise. I just can't afford.
My options: 30 days---oriatate them, socaialize them a little and use my shop to find somekind of home or in the end give to No Kill Shelter.
I cannot keep forever, I cannot afford anymore animals for vet bills. I feel just sick about this.
                              Anyhu Merry XMAS....
