Big M, that's so sweet of you. In all my 50 some years never shopped black friday until today and I worked. Heres how it went.
Opening new shop money is tight, so, me with my BIG BRAIN, decided to get up at 3:30 am eastern, and hit the sales, get what I want and come home, sleep 2 hours before opening shop. Good plan, I can go without a few hours sleep. No problembo.... WHAT AN IDIOT I IS!
I did get some great deals; however, avoid WALMART at all costs!
It was like a shark tank, or a lions den who have'nt feed for a year! CRAZY ****!
They literally ran over the heels of my foot to get where they wanted to go with their carts! And it took an extra 30 minutes to get to the front of the store to check out!
Get near the electronic section-----FORGETABOUTIT!
5:00am, 50 to 100 surrounded the electronic section. 5:07 when feeding frenzy was done ---nothing left left of 5:00am sales prices.
I went on to other stores and got some stuff and I missed their morning feeding frenzy there.
All said and done, I got home and dogs said; BARK BARK lets wake dad up he's got nothing better to do! And then hey your up, it's time to EAT?
Needless to say no sleep, only little nap and everyone well feed happy and freash coffee when DH got up......AND LIFE GOES ON......

Miss the Black Friday sales??? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!! DH and I were at the mall by 4:15 this AM and scooped up some KILLER deals!!! I absolutely love the Biltmore sheets from Belks, but they are kind of pricey so I always get mine on Black Friday when they are marked down cheap + a coupon! Bath & Body Works- home will smell good for quite some time now, $5.00 wallflowers!! Macys had some good stuff marked down too! Moved on to Target and got the kids toy shopping done.
Got 90% of my Christmas shopping done today - WOO HOO!!!!

took my first black friday ever off! slept in till 6:30,new pup at 62 lbs seems to have tiny bladder, drank coffee,no sales. worked retail before, (still have nightmares) 12 to 18 hrs on my feet in heels!!! sold fine jewelry,so had to have every hair in place and nails done, and no days off from thanksgiving till christmas , no thank you. sometimes you would have to elbow people out of your way to go to the bathroom,we were locked in the department, only one way out. sheeesh! but i agree, no woman should work black friday!! from the other side..sigh. i feel much better now..hehe~~Everyone is entitled to my opinion!~~

I don't do the sales, but unless you are open later in the afternoon/evening you probably don't have many clients anyway. I have always worked 12-9 on black friday. I am the only one who actually gets any dogs in, plus by that time there is actually parking available in front of the store.I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.

NO black Fridays for me. My Husband and I went for the first time last year, we laughed our @sses off at all of the CRAAAZY people, got insulted by their cruelty and awfulness, sat half of the time in traffic jams with people laying on horns and threatening each others' lives,,,got into the stores to find a FEW good deals, to have people cut in line on us, push us around, run their carts into us....nope,, never again. We still laugh about all of the crazies we saw that day, and we'll never go back for such abuse! Today? Today I waaaay slept in, spent the day of sunshine with my kids and hubby and the dogs outside and went hiking, we had a second dinner night of T'day foods all together at the table with just us, I cleaned up the house and worked on a couple of projects and here I am. the best day off I have had in awhile. I am all for being frugal and saving money and for the "girl time" with friends, but with the nastiness, traffic accidents, meanness and gluttony--no thanks, that isn't the holidays to me. For those that "roll WalMart tough"- more power to you,,I am a big whoosey!Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough. ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

For all the patience I have for 3 young kids, my husband, my dogs, and the dogs at work I have 0 tolerance for those kind of crowds. I have never gone shopping on Black Friday. I always work usually I am pretty busy today I only did 4, but 2 were my monthly full coated Samoyeds so they count as 2 each as far as I am concerned.
I am sooo bad I usually get christmas shopping done the week of christmas. Santa always seems to find everything he wants to get the kids. Christmas usually leaves me close to having a nervous breakdown. I always leave all the kids presents from us and Santa at my mom's house (these are VERY sneaky mischievious children), and have to go there to wrap and collect, kids never want to go to bed, I am always exhausted from being busy at work. DH helps as much as he can, but you know they never get it right, as far as I/we are concerned. This year I am taking everything from my mom's straight to a charity org to wrap less headache for me, and donations for them.
Presents for the kids= hundreds of $'s..... Mom close to loosing her mind, Kids faces on Christmas day=PRICELESSIf you sweat the small stuff, all you have is small soggy stuff.....

I took "Black Friday" off but you couldnt catch me dead at a store yesterday morning! I did, however go to walmart last night and there were not any crowds. I usually do my xmass shopping in the middle of the night at the 24hr stores or on line. I hate crowds like that! (um, unles it is at a dog show lol!)
