Multiple Dog Discounts?

I had a woman call me late tues night and leave a msg. about her 6 mini poodles needing grooming. I call her back wed. and give her my price at xx.xx a dog. She asks if I do a multidog discount, I told her no, that her dogs would take me all day, etc etc. She gets upset with me and says her regular groomer charges less per dog , the dogs are at the groomers at that moment, and her groomer gives her a multidog discount. Then she hung up on me LOL.

My question is, how many of you give a multi dog discount???

No multi dog discount here. They aren't any quicker to do just because they have one owner.

I do because I make housecalls and it saves me traveling time and $.

I give $5 off for 2 pets or $7.50 for 3 off the total price of the groom. The only reason I do it is because I don't have to deal with another customer (twice) for dropoff/pickup.

I don't. I still have to put gas in my gene and it still takes me the same amount of time. If you are mobile and give $5 off for multi, you are losing money. It does not cost that much in gas to drive to the next house. I believe if you can't afford to have them all groomed you should not have them.

If the dogs were at another shop why?

If the dogs were at another groomers, why was she calling you? That is a waste of time for you .I don't get some people...she wanted an even better deal?She wanted to appreciate her current groomer? What?

I offer it for one customer only, and it's because she brings us 8 dogs and 1 cat, all about once a month. So she spends a lot of coin here, and she's also the local SPCA contact. So we like her, she spends a lot of money here, and she tells a lot of people about us. I want to keep her happy!

the only discount i'll do is for seniors on a fixed income who can not easily get out of the house.

I do not give multiple dog discounts. I also believe if you can't afford it you shouldn't own them. It takes me the same amount of time and products to do all of them. I look at like this, my hairdresser doesn't give me a discount because myself, my husband and my daughter go to her. My mechanic doesn't give us discount because we bring 2 vehicles.

As far as I know we only do for one person. She has five very large dog, and continually refers to us. I wouldn't make a habit of it though, honestly.

In my salon, I do for three or more (not 2 because most people have 2) we give 5%.

In the mobile we charge by time, so it can be cheaper for them since I can bathe them at the same time that is HOW they get a discount.

The only standing discount, I do cops for free. My hubby is a cop and I can attest that they make diddly squat for putting thier life on the line. I do the bath, nails and ears for free. If they want a full groom they pay the difference. All I ask, is that they tip the groomer:-) Most of the cops give my groomers a $20 tip.

I don't give a discount for multiple dogs. You should ask the next multi-dog owner if they plan on paying you extra for having to work all day on the same clients!
