getting banned

I am starting to see more names that are banned. One was a personthat only had 1 post. WOW. Stephen means business.

Stephen: Not to name names, but don't signup here and 1 minute later start selling your products to everyone blatantly. That happens at all the boards, not just here. That will get you banned immediately when that is the only reason you signed up.

How do you see who is banned?

You might happen to notice in some older conversations that under a name it says banned, and their message has been deleted. I've only ever noticed 1 member banned. I must have missed the 1 message one.

The key is to be respectful of others. Emotions and true meanings are very hidden in written words. Innocent comments can VERY easily be misinterpreted as insults. I know that if a diplomacy class had ever been offered, I'd flunk it in a heartbeat.
I kind of insulted a client recently because I was upset over the constantly bad condition her dog was in. I didn't know the history behind it and I prejudged. But I think I smoothed it over by the end of the conversation.

I just avoid writing back if there's something I could take as rude.
Opinions can be quite strong in one direction or another. But they're just that...opinions. They can be accepted or rejected, but insulting someone will not change their mind.

I noticed it too, on one person that I thought was always making sort of rude comments, but it sounded like they were just blunt and they never learned any manners. But there is no excuse for being mean on hear, like mama says, "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all." Words O wisdom Roy, words O wisdom!

My mama had a different take on things; "If you can't say something nice....come sit by me."

On another board I was involved in a discussion and someone was insulted by what I wrote, they emailed me their thoughts and opinions. I felt sick!! I was embarrassed, and upset! I was ashmed and went and looked at my post adn then felt a little better but still upset, my comment that caused such a ruckus?? I Said I someday would like to add another yorkie to our family but this time a beautiful show quality...yep! I insulted a ton of people.. it was twisted that NON show quality yorkies were ugly. Uhhh, I have no VERY non-show quality yorkies, who I think are cuter then a bugs ear...but still some people can get VERy sensitive.

I agree that people should not be selling stuff here under false pretenses of posts. Not nice, others pay money for ads plus it is irriitating to read sales pitches.

I like this board and how well it is moderated.

I've only noticed the one name that had the banned under it, especially when I'm reading a post and the name appears and there is no post anymore. It has all been taken off. Never did notice the only "one" post.

So if what Stephen says is true, then that ocean front property in Oklahoma I have would probably get me banned if I tried to sell it here. Dang.
