What kind of insurance do you have? Are you mobile or have a shop? Will be converting a van to go mobile but right now I work at a kennel. I know there is Gibson but was wondering if there are any others. Any advice will be helpful.

I think most of us use Gibson. I use them for both business & building insurance. When I checked with other companies, the rates were all much higher because I don't think regular insurance companies have any understanding of the industry.

I'm under $1000/yr for both business & building. I don't think that's too bad given the liability associated with dogs thes days.

I had Gibson for 7 years. Absolutly no claims on them at all. They done an 50 percent price increase on me last year. I understand inflation but, man, hit me gradually. So, I had to switch to a local regular insurance agent.

I went thru an insurance broker? and the sent me through SAFECO. The insurance people told me they had an animal business plan. So I am insured thru them for all my business needs for $1051 a year.

the John Glover Agency deals with some of the Aussie franchises, so they have some experience with mobiles. The agent I've been talking to has been quite sweet and helpful in getting my quotes for various vehicles. He also said he's been to some grooming expos to get more info abot the business. That tells me they've got real interest.

Have a shop and HAD to use our homeowner carrier. It ended up being cheapier than Gibson (exact same coverage) but I think the agent was bluffing when she said that if we didn't insure the business though them we would loss our homeowners through them.

I have Gibson (well its through Travelers) and I pay $500/year. I have a shop in a strip mall. Doesn't seem expensive to me. Make sure whatever coverage you go with covers things like "fleeing pets", most other companies don't cover that.

Live in PA had a terrible time finding insurance for my home business. Nationwide dropped our homeowners the day I opened. We had ins. with them for 20 years. Found that Erie Ins. covers dog grooming in your home for $39.00 a month. Large coveage too.
