My best client brings her little shih tzu, Ruby, quite often for grooming. Yesterday she came in and said she wanted a green bow for St. Patrick's day. My head jolted up and my eyes got big. "St. Patrick's day? When is that?" DUH!!!! I just hadn't thought about bows for St. Patty's day, I get more into Christmas and Valentines day than anything, lol. I told her I was sorry and that all I had was a sheer ribbon with white polka dots on it, and it's lime green. She was a little disappointed but chose to accept my meager offering.
Then while I was grooming Ruby, I remembered that I had a Christmas hair thingy for girls' pony tails that has green, red and silver ribbons tied all around it. Most of the ribbons had bells hanging on them but some had nothing on them. I untied a green ribbon from the band, stuck some press-on nail jewels onto each end, made it into a bow, and stuck it in Ruby's hair.
When her owner came she said, "Oooooh, Ruby, did Miss Tammy go get some green bows for you?" Stupid me, I should have let her think I went shopping while she was away, lol. I just told her what I came up with.
Gotta be resourceful when you want to please your customers, lol.
