  • I came through for my best client! Whew!

My best client brings her little shih tzu, Ruby, quite often for grooming. Yesterday she came in and said she wanted a green bow for St. Patrick's day. My head jolted up and my eyes got big. "St. Patrick's day? When is that?" DUH!!!! I just hadn't thought about bows for St. Patty's day, I get more into Christmas and Valentines day than anything, lol. I told her I was sorry and that all I had was a sheer ribbon with white polka dots on it, and it's lime green. She was a little disappointed but chose to accept my meager offering.

Then while I was grooming Ruby, I remembered that I had a Christmas hair thingy for girls' pony tails that has green, red and silver ribbons tied all around it. Most of the ribbons had bells hanging on them but some had nothing on them. I untied a green ribbon from the band, stuck some press-on nail jewels onto each end, made it into a bow, and stuck it in Ruby's hair.

When her owner came she said, "Oooooh, Ruby, did Miss Tammy go get some green bows for you?" Stupid me, I should have let her think I went shopping while she was away, lol. I just told her what I came up with.

Gotta be resourceful when you want to please your customers, lol.

Tammy, Tammy, Tammy, how could you not have any St. Patty's Day ribbon just kiddin' LOL. I guess you aren't Irish. I love St. Patty"s Day, I don't know why, it has just always been fun, I am Irish, but don't really think that has anything to do with why I enjoy St. Patty's, I just do. Way to be resourceful for little Ruby & her owner. You shoud of let the owner think you went shopping hee hee.

Where's that tongue/raspberry emoticon when I need it? That one from the old boards was the BEST, and it helped me express myself many o' times, lol. Huh Stephen?

Shame on you Tammy, I can't believe you forgot about St. Patty's day! No green ribbons. I've been using St. Patty's material for bandana's and bows all month. I even have a St. Patty's photo backdrop thingy set up.

My oldest daughter was born on St. Patty's day and my hubby severed a church mission in Ireland. Needless to say we don't forget about that day.

Plus it is a fun day!!!!

Been doin' St Paddy's day bows and 'dannas since Mar 1st! Love the holidays. Easter, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day! They all get appropriate decorations. Good job, Tammy, for finding something in your bag of tricks! Bet you were a Girl Scout too!!! LOL! For the record, I miss the old emoticons too!

Ingenuity -- #1 important characteristic for being a groomer! However, St. Patty will frown on your forever, McTammy! My Father's wife crocheted me several dozen shamrocks. Man, were they ever cute added to a green/white bow for collars or standing alone for maltese/yorky topknots. She even crocheted the rubber bands right in. I'm really lucky to have a crafty family member! Now she's working on daffodils and easter eggs.
