  • Ugh- grooming w/ a scratched eye!

Anyone ever scratch your eye? Last night I was cleaning the house & poked my eye on this floral arrangement thingy . I wasnt too worried about it but today its still irritated. Luckily I have 6 dogs, 4 are bbne's/neatens. Whew, its driving me nuts! All the docs in my area close early on fridays so I cant get in.......hopefully it gets better. I have the weekend off so I can rest it a bit

Ouch. If you cannot get into a doctor, you could risk the image of being a pirate and patch it for today. A cool cloth will help also.

Yes actually, boy is that painful. I did it at work. I must have had something in my eye, and rubbed, and I scratched my cornea. Lucky me, my sister works at an eye docs office, so I got an appointment for free, and he wrote me a script for cheap drops!
I would suggest you go to the doctor if it's really bugging you. They can probably give you a script for some type of steroid eye drops (I think that's what I got). Worked real quick. I was a litle sensitive to bright lights, and I had to wear my glasses instead of contacts (ugh), but I could groom just fine!

Ok well I made it through the day. And to my knowledge, all the dogs went home looking Ok LOL. I had a very sweet client come in this mornin to drop off her shih tzu - when she saw my eye she said she was runnin to the local pharmacy, no buts about it! She returned w/ some eye drops from the pharmacist and made me lay down and she put them in LOL Apparently she used to be a nurse! Go figure. I dont feel 100% BUT it feels better and I was able to work through the day. Whew! A few of my other clients told me I looked like I had been in a fist fight! LOL. I need to think of a good story to tell people

Last summer I scratched my cornea in two places straight across from each other with a piece of broken glass. The good news is that corneal abrasions heal very quickly but they hurt more than child birth! You should have a doctor look at it and if your vision is blurry for more than two days you really should try to find a doctor to look at it. Mine was still very blurry the next afternoon and they said if it was in the morning I needed to go to the hospital. However, I woke up the next morning and the pain was gone and it wasn't blurry anymore. Good luck, rest that eye this weekend and know that the pain should be gone hopefully tomorrow.

Broken glass in your eye?!?!? I think I'm going to be sick. Eyes are my weak point. I get sick just thinking about them.....ugh.....

              Don't fool around w/your eyes!

If a customer noticed your scratched eye it must be pretty bad!! Take care of that thing or you could end up w/a serious eye problem like my hubby did.

Todd has horrible allergies during the spring and constantly rubs his eyes. Seven yrs ago we were moving my shop to its present location and Todd and my dad were working w/a lot of lumber. Todd was constantly rubbing his eyes because of the allergies and badly scratched one w/saw dust. He didn't do anything about it all week (except whine and complain...lol). On Sunday the white part of his eye had literally bubbled up and was covering part of his pupil. It was soooooo gross looking and extremely painful to him. We went to the ER and they actually called a specialist who met us IMMEDIATELY at his office. Todd was a very short time away from having irreversable damage to that eye and surgery was a possibility if the meds didn't work. Thankfully the meds did work, but he had a week of using very expensive drops, one of which burned when applied. The Dr said if he had had that eye flushed properly when it first happened all of the drama could have been avoided.

Moral of the story: Don't fool around w/your eyes!!! lol
