I'm so mad at myself!

I had a peke in that would've been perfect for the miracle makeover but I forgot to take a before pic! His owner died and the new owners (friends/relatives I guess?) brought him in to get checked out. He had clumps of mats all over but they weren't close to the skin so I was able to brush them out rather than shave him. The poor thing is 16 and was a little angel for the whole groom.

I'll attach an after pic, you'll have to take my word for the fact that it was a dramatic makeover.

Yea, very nice job..

I did the same thing jst the other day, I got 2 "after" pics but forgot to get the before. this guy got adopted the day before and came in with solid mats on all four feet.
it was almost like trying to remove a cast.
but he was tail waggin and prancing the floor after! THAT's what it's all about!

Thanks! The shine is partly from brushing the worst of the mats out while he soaked in conditioner. After rinsing and HV-ing, I also used stazko liberally which always seems to add a bit of shine as well.

I wish I could go back in time to take the pics! I realized right as I sprayed him with water that I forgot to take them, but I wanted to demat him while he had conditioner in so I went ahead and bathed him.

Seriously that dog looks so nice and shiny, you did a very nice job. I know how matted those little pekes can get, I have one that comes in every "so often" for her groom, and what a mess---and she bites to boot. This one was surely much worse, but came out very nice!
