I figured everyone might find this funny. We have been working six days a week since November. So I decided to take Sunday off. Saturday a woman called trying to get an appointment (immediately). I told her very nicely that we were booked and I was so very sorry. She snobbishly replied “Ok you just don’t want to groom my pet then”. I said oh no we simply have a groomer out of town, and we are to full of grooms today to accept any others. I told here there is a groomer in town who does accept walk ins and I would be very willing to provide that information. We were just too full. She replied “I am not taking my dog there, you just don’t want to groom my dog” and she hung up on me. How rude!! I guess we all have bad days though.

Oh of course.... Now I get it... When I call my doctors office to make an appointment and they can't get me in for a couple weeks, it's just because he doesn't want to see me. People just don't want to make money. It's so clear to me now.... LOL
I hate some people... They're just stupid.Becky

As if working 6 days a week isn't enough, I still get people calling Sat. afternoon needing a groom. And when they ask what about Sunday and I say I am closed I sometimes get the same insulted reaction you got. I'm almost tempted to offer them after-hours grooming at the same hourly rate that plumbers get-65 /hr, and see if they'll go for it,lol.

I would have said, "while that WAS not the case, it will be in the future if you continue to be so rude/curt with me". I have occasionally been honest with clients about why I no longer wanted to do business with them and have had the expected responses: apology, no apology but re-surfacing at a later date w/ a nicey nice attitude, or have never heard from them again. I also have flat out told people to take their business elsewhere either for rudeness or if they cancel more than 3 times. The cancellation people are a waste of our staff's time and tend to also be the problem people . When they hit that number, we dump them. Obviously there are some exceptions to that rule but not many. This could be a new thread: what qualifies a customer to be dumped? Sounds anti-business but I have nipped many the trouble makers this way and have always found a nice, normal person with a nice, normal dog right behind them!

not too long ago I had a customer that brought in a yorkie to be groomed. well, she was pushy he was a butthead..biter..spinner..nasty lil guy..she comes in an hour earlier than I told...demanding her dog....she says what are you all doing to him?! I was like lady, its what he's doing to me thats making the problem! she wanted him right then,,I said you know what? I really dont care for your attitude, and I don't think I want your business anyway...she changed her whole attitude, became apologetic...I gave her the dog, not finished, charged her...she says I'll call you soon as he needs it... I said thats fine, but I won't groom him again....have a nice daywacko

funny story ...
we have one woman that is in every couple of weeks with her 3 shih tzu's. she always has a huge attitude and is just generally rude to everyone. one time, after b****ing about something, she went out to her car & her dogs had locked her out! sooo she had to call the police to come unlock her car .... BUT she was parked in a handicapped spot & got a ticket!
KARMA!!!

pushy snobby folks are the best especially when they want in now even though its been 6-7 months since there last groom. But then suddenly its a priority.
Once I was bullied into taken in one of these dogs and the owner of coarse was willing to do whatever it took even pay double.....they left a 2 dollar tip hehe.
