  • I've had her all brushed out......

and yesterday she got outside and got all matted. I just smile and tell her I know how that is. But at least she is happy being short.

The little matted wonder is a Shih who I see about every 3-4 months and always has to be taken down short. Doesn't surprise me the condition she is in, if she weren't matted I'd be surprised.

I did a wet shave with a #7, could have done her longer but the owner wants her short so why go longer.

Heard that one before...Ugh. There is also a lake nearby that mats dogs. The owners brush the dog, it jumps in the lake and presto-instant heavy matting. Yeah right!

I must have been in a great mood because this matted wonder didn't bother me at all. I guess it was the chocolates the other clients had given me today, I was on a choc high!!! lol

That's funny, Diane. Yesterday I had 2 matted schnauzers, one of them had the neck area so matted that it came off in one piece. The owner, an older woman, could have died. She was red around that area, and I showed the vet. Told him she was matted, but that it could have been clipper burn from the tugging, he said, "Either way, SHE pays for it if she wants some topical spray for it." Alrighty then!

And tomorrow I have 3 schnauzers coming in, at least 2 of them will be matted. Oh joy.

Last time a customer said "I brush her all the time" I gave a big wink and a smile and said "you don't do a very good job" LOL With just the right smile and lightheartedness I can say some pretty outrageous things and people don't get offended!

It always gets me too when they bring in their matted pup and it has a few blades of weeds on it and they are trying to take off the weeds, like that really matters when the dog is going to have to be stripped off. As if the weeds just got there.

I had a lady come in the first time with a maltese matted to the skin. SHe said, "She's all combed out (yes combed), ready to go." It took everything I had not to laugh. After I shaved her dog with a #7 I thought she'd go somewhere else. Well, she shows up 7 months later and says "I know, she's bad," and I say ok, we'll strip her again, and then I sent her home with a PREBOOKED appt. for 8 weeks, and we've been doing this for a little while now. No mats!

I know those blades of grass are really going to make a big difference. Way too funny!!
