Enough of that old thread about the scottie. New one now. You may remember, the scottie only getting a refresher bath, but it was more matted than expected.
Well, the owner finally made it back from Las Vegas and I called to speak with her. She told me that she had not realized she was matted but that the dog "tends to be that way," that she gets her groomed every month but, "She's never very happy with the groom. The groomer doesn't do the eyebrows right," and I asked her what she meant (I already knew), and she said it looked like one eyebrow.
I told her politely that I didn't make it a habit to talk down about other groomers, and that it didn't matter to me where she wanted to get it groomed, but that if shes wants a more proper trim, to make sure that the groomer clips the back of the ears, (this dog had fluffy ears front and back) and that they divide the brows. She also said the uni-brow was "too long" for her taste. Yes, the brows were dangling like long hair over the eyes.
She said she wanted to try me, and I told her she was welcome at my shop any time. She seemed glad I talked to her. Also, her dog began throwing up after they picked her up from the boarding/animal hospital, and she seemed a bit upset at first but after talking to her about the grooming she then said that she and her husband had concluded that the only difference was that the dog was downstairs (less human contact) instead of her usual upstairs visit. This could be true, but anyway she was happy at the end of the conversation and had come to positive conclusions without me having to point out what I felt was obvious. I'll keep you posted from here.
