Moser question
I used to own and love the Moser. I am looking at getting another one. I noticed that on the Wahl website they sell the Moser, but at Pet Edge they sell the Arco SE that does not have Moser printed on the clipper, and it is $40 less. Does anyone know what the difference is?
Also, I used to have a terrible time with the combs coming off of the moser and than leaving a divet in the coat. Anyone else have this problem? I bought mine 4 years ago, so maybe that problem has improved with newer models. I still loved it for other things.

New blades??
Sheri, I'm surprised they send new blades instead of sharpening the old ones. I've always had mine sharpened, but I can't tell the difference from new ones. But I only use it on pads (at 30) or sanitary (at 10). But I'm going to send mine back to Wahl, as you suggest.
Amy, I had the same problem with the attachment combs. I think they're terrible. So I bought the Laube Speedfeed and the attachment combs work great. I use it instead of my regular clipper on all small breeds. I love it.

Laube Speed Feed attachments are super
RevWind, I use the Laube Speed Feed with comb attachments on so many things -- on small dogs, on the head, beard, front of legs and feet, and on Maltese or Yorkies, for example, all over the body. They are so easy to use that I seldom pick up a regular clipper. They even go through mats.

The Mini Arco that's $69.32 is smaller and doesn't have an adjustable blade. It comes with a 30 blade.

I'm not sure they even try to sharpen them, because I've always received brand new blades in exchange for the ones I sent them. They charge $10.95 for the first blade, which includes $2.95 for return shipping, and $8.00 for each additional blade. I have 6 Moser blades so I send 5 at a time for sharpening and usually receive new blades within a week. Here's the address where you can send the Moser blades and their email address if you want to verify the cost before sending them. They may have done a price increase since the last time I sent mine.

Nope, Wahl does not do ANY sharpening themselves. Whatever you bring or send in, they simply replace with new. It's very strange, but true. They're only 45 minutes from me so we take our stuff there for replacement when something breaks. It's cheaper to have things sharpened elsewhere, but we go to Wahl when something is broken since they just give us a new one.
They've also done this with 3 of our clippers that needed repair (but not all, 2 Arco's and 1 Mini-Moser). Those 3, they determined that it'd be easier to just give us new clippers than fix them. There was no charge, it was like Christmas!

As far as the arco mini's being a 30 blade? I'd REALLY have to disagree with that. I did the face and feet of a mini/toy poodle once with the mini and WOW was it skinned. It was a lot shorter than the 40 on my big moser! I also nicked the feet more than I do with a big moser. It was my boss' mini moser.

Bravura Is The Way To Go!
I used to love my Moser until I purchased the Bravura (also by Wahl). This is an EXCELLENT trimmer. The Bravura has torque control, so if you hit a mat or a dense coat, it speeds up the motor to push it through. A nice bonus is that the combs actually stay on this trimmer! It is quiet and cordless, but you can use the cord in emergencies. It also uses the Moser blade, so you are controling the blade length with the flick of your. This is the only trimmer that I use on cats, for sanitaries and feet. I have been using this trimmer for about 2 year now. I love it!
