I thout you would all enjoy this

    JUST A DOG

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand
the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just
    a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me
comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust,
    and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make
me a better person. Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take
long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me,
it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the
future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away
from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" , but
the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man or
woman." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog." just smile --
    because they "just don't understand."

I need to give a copy of this to my brother and sister-in-law. People who think a dog is "just a dog" don't realize how rich their lives could be if they would share it with a dog.

That's too bad for them. I sit and think, "Lucky me."

I'm with Spikey I'm gonna copy it and send it to my sister and brother in law who inivite us for holidays and live three hours away but say you can't bring your dog. When I refuse and say no because by the time I get there spend time and come home it's over a 9 hour day. They say they don't see a problem because it's "just a dog", boy does that make me angry.

Not just a dog! but my child

Not just a dog, but my child. Until one has loved (and lost) a dog, a part of ones' soul remains unawakened. My favorite word is:PUPPIES,HALLELUJAH is 1st...or a tie.

Thanks for sharing. That is beautiful. Wish more people would realize they are more than "just a dog". They have helped me get through some tough times, my "just a dog" family.

My Aunt sent me a copy of that a couple months ago. She printed it out on cute dog stationary. I framed it and put it in my shop.

If one has never loved a dog they just don't understand the bond. My life would not be complete without them.

Thanks for sharing it with everyone.

I loved this too plushpuppy! I couldn't imagine my life without all the dogs I've shared it with and in turn have allowed me to share life with them. I'm going to print this out and put in my shop as well - it's beautifully put! Thanks so much for sharing.
