  • Other things to sell in shop

Someone asked for other things that can be sold in the shop here is a few ideas.
I make coats, squeakie toys and sleeping bags. I have samples in my shop and then I make them to order so I don't have some much sitting around taking up space. I do have a lot of squeakie toys in a bin that I have made.
I have retailed for 6 yrs. but I stopped it all last fall, I just sell the kind of things that can't be bought in stores.
I have also made jewel or charm cell phone antenna thingies, shirt sleeve colored bead safety pins, and last year I made cement painted leaves formed from real leaves.

The leaves are very easy to make, I got instrutions on some web sites. I started to make only afew for myself but ended up with over 200, I sold them in my shop, farmers market and a craft show. I had like 35 left so I had a daily drawing to get rid of the rest of them at Christmas time so I don't have any left right now. I shipped some to my son in Texas and shipping was like $5.00. the rhubarb leaves are very big and heavy but the grape leaves are not too heavy.

There is on-line instrutions, just do a search for making cement leaves.
I made a sand base so there is hills & valleys for the leaf shape, lay plastic so the leaf won't get sand on it. Lay leaf vein side up and pour Porland cement/sand on the leaf, let sit for 24h48hrs. depends on the size of the leaf. Gently remove leaf and wait a week to paint, use latax paint or "patio Paint" by Decoart, from Michael's.
One lady made one so big they can be used for a bird bath.
I made a 28" elephant ear one for my sister, it was just too heavy to do anymore like that! Leaves to use, rhurbarb, hostas, grape, elephant ears, burdock and lots more as you start looking around.

That sleeping bag looks cozy, and a good idea.

The sleeping bag is for the dogs, I have a Dachshund and they LOVE to get into something, my dog sleeps in one at night, she has one in the livingroom, one beside my computer desk and one in the basement!!

No, I haven't ever found a mold for a dog's foot, I wouldn't want to use the real dog's foot.Have you seen a mold for one?

I love the sleeping bag type bed. I have tried to find a similar one, but they usually are expensive. My mom sews though, if you don't mind I might steal your idea and have her make a similar one
