an alternative is to buy business card sized magnets, at an office supply store, and put your business card on them, much cheaper, and looks great. just an idea.

I don't know about plastic ones, but I get mine from Vistaprint.com. They're not that expensive there, but printing and shipping take forever (imo). I have, in a pinch, got the magnet business card sheets that will go thru your printer and printed them off at home. Office supply stores have them. They just break apart then like business cards and you use the same setting as you would printing out business cards. My husband tried the magentic backs to go on the back of business cards, but had a hard time trying to get them on straight...Might of just been him. I've never tried them.

I had the same problem. And once those babies are on, they are on.

                Magnetic Business Cards

Animals Ink has lots of things to promote your business. You can have your cards printed and then go to your local Office Depot or Staples and get the magnetic backings for business cards. I have used these for years. But....lately I have found something better: Animals Ink has dog food can lid covers. These are printed with your business name and phone number. Seriously, people will look at the dog food can more than a magnetic business card that gets lost or set aside. Im getting more calls from the food can lid covers. They also have pens, but I like National Pen.

So I just got my order of 200 magnetic biz cards from Vistaprint and I'm rather disappointed. Most people I have showed them to say send them back. They're really thin and don't stick strongly to the fridge at all. But they will hold a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Should I keep them anyway? They don't look terrible, they're just weaker than I thought they'd be, but they hold a full sized piece of paper.

Those who have vistaprint mag. biz cards. Did you find the same problem?

I would at least call them and share your thoughts. You never know, there might have been a mistake. I have never gotten magnets through them.

                          Make your own!

I buy my business card paper at Staples and the magnetic backs at Wal-mart. For 180, I think the price is somewhere around $25. Not bad~!

I thought about that. There's a machine at Joann Fabrics that will attach biz cards to magnet strips for you, but I worried that the paper card would fall apart. Most biz card magnets are vinyl.
Plus my magnets are bright orange and I don't want to quickly kill the ink in any printer.

You have to look at the thickness that you are ordering. I had the same dissapointment with printplace.
