  • A computer, makeup, and Spike...

This is what my husband says I can have if we move into his parents house between now and when our house is built. LOL, isn't he thoughtful?

He's teasing of course, though his parents would like us to live with them so we can save more money. Our rent just went up, so did our insurance premiums and co-pays, and so he is quite frustrated. So I asked him, "HOW on earth could we fit all of our junk at their house?" He said, "We'd just have to pack everything up as if we were moving tomorrow, but you can keep the things you need---the computer, makeup and Spike."

Howcome he said I "need" makeup? I think a fight is about to break out at our house.

me - I would have to take the dogs and all their things. And 2 pairs of work clothes and some eyeliner and blush. I don't want to scare any of my clients away.

        Not a bad idea.

You could save money with some storage unit for the stuff.

He said make-up because you are so lovely, he just assumes you use make-up. He doesn't kinow it's all natural.
Money will buy you a pretty good dog but it won't buy the wag of it's tail.

Aren't men so sweet....lol.....my darling will say things that he thinks are complimentary, but they really are not...haha Did you ask him what his "day of packing" would include? Let me guess, the T.V. (if he is like my hubby), satellite dish, dvd playerl, clean undies optional...lol

been there done that! My hubby and I lived with my folks when he was finsihing his final year of engineering and we had a month old baby..when he graduated we moved.

We then got screwed badly in a housing/business deal and were literally homeless, my parents let us move in with them (hubby, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 toddler and I was 7 months preg), we managed to save enough and buy our own home...NEXT DOOR! lool We never got far...the funny thing my parents and us think it is the best, we all got along, love being close and my kids have their Nini and Papa next door!

You accumulate so much stuff in your own place. I couldn't picture having to move back with my parents with all the **** I have. I guess it's kind of good because you get a chance at weeding through all the stuff you don't need. As for the make up comment, he's a man....he means no harm lol.

I LOOOOOVE my in-laws. I'm serious, I love 'em like my own parents, maybe more. They're the nicest people. I grew up very independent and do-it-yourself, but his family? No way. They ALL help each other. All the time. It's amazing, and they don't even find it a burden. I'm very very lucky.

We did have to live with them for 2 weeks once. Our basement apartment flooded and we couldn't live in it for that time so we packed up a few things and the dog and shared an inflatable mattress (OH THAT SUCKED!), and that was it. IT was fine, but I like being in MY OWN PLACE.

We can't wait until we can start building our house...counting down 'til the snow melts for spring!
