  • Good news thread

Don't slack from all your preps and safety, but there is good news that TV often overlooks.

FoxNews reported that WA state, which was the FIRST state by CV19 is showing signs of flattening out. Here is what they said:

Trace Gallagher: You’ll recall the first case was in Washington State. It also is where the death toll is highest. But the University of Washington virology department which is closely tracking Washington state numbers is now seeing the curve there flatten. So overall, US numbers are rising but the first state affected might be seeing a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

90 Year Old Seattle Woman's Amazing Recovery

AMAZING NEWS: 90-Year-Old Woman Who Contracted Coronavirus in Seattle Nursing Home NOW RECOVERING!
Avatar by Cassandra Fairbanks March 20, 2020 164 Comments

A 90-year-old woman who contracted coronavirus in a Seattle nursing home has beat the illness and is now recovering.

The Life Care Center senior care facility in Seattle had a major outbreak of the virus in February.

CBS News reports that 62% of the roughly 130 elderly residents had become infected and more than a quarter of them have died, but Geneva Wood, who tested positive on March 6, has beat the odds.

Wood also had preexisting conditions, as she was moved into the senior facility in January after suffering a stroke.

“Just when my mom beat one thing, another ‘thing’ rolled her way,” Kate Neidigh’s mother-in-law, and Wood’s daughter, Cami Neidigh wrote in Seattle Refined.

“I’m going to fight this for my family and make everyone proud,” Wood reportedly told Cami Neidigh through a glass pane while in isolation at Harborview after the diagnosis.

“With five kids, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, the love of her family had been a driving force in everything she did pre-coronavirus. No way was this going to change after-the-fact,” her relative wrote.

President Trump called the news of chloroquine’s effectiveness in treating the COVID-19 virus a “game changer” this week.

This came after three international studies found chloroquine along with Azithromycin was successful in treating the coronavirus.

          The Washington Examiner reported:

Israel’s leading drug producer announced Thursday it will donate 6 million doses of anti-malaria drugs to the United States in hopes that it could be helpful treating coronavirus symptoms.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries says the drug could potentially treat people with the coronavirus and will ship the hydroxychloroquine tablets through wholesalers nationwide by the end of the month and will provide 10 million doses in total, according to Breitbart News.

“We are committed to helping to supply as many tablets as possible as demand for this treatment accelerates at no cost,” Teva Executive Vice President Brendan O’Grady said about the move."

And let the good news spread to all this Spring. My doctor expects the flu season to end in May this year from what he has been told. This flu does not like lots of sun and warm temps.

Yes, it's great to hear WA going flat. Warm weather can't come soon enough. It's been reported how fragile this is to heat. Mostly its major airport cities hit hardest. We just got our first case of a 2o yr college kid.

On Tuesday New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said there are “probably “hundreds of thousands of people” who have already had COVID-19, didn’t know they had it, and recovered. Cuomo continued to say these New Yorkers “should be tested for antibodies so they could go back to work and keep the economy going.”

                              UK Study Follow-Up

The British study that predicted up to 500,000 DEATHS has now reduced it 20,000 and said 10,000 of the 20,000 would have died from previous medical issues.

                              WOW, 500,000 down to 20,000!

"Neil Ferguson, who led the @imperialcollege authors who warned of 500,000 UK deaths – and who has now himself tested positive for #COVID; https://www.newscientist.com/article...pert-predicts/ … He now says both that the U.K. should have enough ICU beds and that the coronavirus will probably kill under 20,000 people in the U.K. – more than 1/2 of whom would have died by the end of the year in any case bc they were so old and sick. Essentially, what has happened is that estimates of the viruses transmissibility have increased – which implies that many more people have already gotten it than we realize – which in turn implies it is less dangerous.

Stay safe! But expect even more good news that isn't always broadcast.
