  • My Scrap Book

On the old boards I asked for ideas for my shop scrapbook. I'm going to keep it on the front counter for clients to look at. Well, here are my ideas:

    Meet Your Groomer page: Done

Funny Page: Done (cute/funny photos of dogs, such as blue dyed dog, etc)

Before & After: Under Construction (Just the usual before and after photos)

Miracle Makeovers: Under Construction (Taking before and after photos of extremely icky dogs turned into real beauties!)

Health: Photos of pelts, long toenails (GOT ANY OTHER IDEAS HERE?)

Pet Memorial: I will have a page of pets that have crossed the rainbow bridge, sort of a tribute to them.

Thats a great idea Tammy, I have a plain old photo album in my lobby, if you don't mind I may have to borrow your idea! For the health section you could also have picts of infected ears and dogs w/bad teeth with a "you may need to take your dog to his vet if his ears/teeth look like this" subtitle. If you wanted to be real "creative" you could also post picts if you get maggoty dogs or ones w/just bad sores under their pelts. I think some people really have no idea what a health risk it can be for dogs to be allowed to get so badly matted.

Sounds like things are moving right along for you Tammy. I may just have to come to your job site to check this out when you have it finished.

You should have a baby page done in pink n blue for the pups first haircut. People just love to see pupy pictures.

In the health section you can show common skin problems and list the shampoos you use to treat them.

You might also add a section demonstrating how to properly brush a dog and the different tools to use.

That could cross the line into vet medicine. I think Tammy works in a vet clinic so that should, IMO, be left up to the vet. Maybe before and after showing Rx shampoo treatments would work but I'd not want to step on vet toes with a heading like that. CYA and all that jazz

In the health section you can show common skin problems and list the shampoos you use to treat them.

                          Thanks all!

The ears/teeth/skin problems were great ideas, thanks! I would show photos of flea infestation, but I have never seen it here. I haven't seen a flea in ... gosh, I've seen ONE flea in 9 months, to be honest. I saw one dog, my VERY FIRST dog I groomed at the VERY FIRST shop I started working at, that had flea infestation. That was the last one. Since then, I've only groomed 2-3 dogs that had 1-2 fleas. Literally, I couldn't find any more on the dog, lol.

I wish I could show you the pages, I've got cute buttons, brads, stickers, paper, and I layer the paper so that the photo is on top of white matting, which is on top of yellow matting, so that behind the picture you see white and then yellow. I also have a paw print punch out thingy so I can make holes in the paper in the shape of paws, etc. I do have to say it was costly getting started, buying the book, stickers, paper with cute patterns, etc (I live in Utah, which is the equivalent of Scrapbook HEAVEN), there are places all over that sell good scrapbook stuff.

My funny page has these photos on it as well as my pug that was soaking in a round rubbermade tub of water, leaning back as though he's in a recliner chair (anal glands were impacted) and a pug with a towel wrapped around his head/body, like a little red riding hood cape:

Love the blue dog! Is that Spike in the tub or one of the other Yorkies you do?

My mother thought of a great idea today. She called me saying she was in a calender store and they are starting to reduce the prices for calenders already. She suggested I get some yorkie/shih tzu/poodle/etc calenders to use the pics as examples for customers.
