  • Do you have a Spa??

I am thinking of changing the way I do things in my salon. I am thinking of switching over to the Spa Lavish Your Pet line from Tropiclean as my general shampoo and cond. and including the Facial and Paw Treatment also. With this, I would do a price increase, but I am already having one March 1st. only for $3.00. I am also going to buy a new sign that says "The Pet Parlour Dog Spa". What do you all do and what do you think of this idea?

    Hydro Surge Love It.

Hydro surge-can't live without it! It came w/ me from San Francisco Bat area one yr used by me then...know on wood still going strong...and I ndon'tb clean it enough. nee a channel lock to unscrew hiose and get back on tight. Lowes less than mile away..can I get there? Noooo. It also helps in cold weather, no cracked skin uner nails this year, and don't they hurt? Hands not scrubbing-it does the work. You can't bathe as well without something lkie this. Quick-thorough too.

i did this in january. ALL my dogs get the "spa treatment" (unless they have bad skin conditions then i use the oxy med) i re-did my shop last week and it now looks more like a "spa" i do not have "add-on" services but i did raise everyones prices to reflect the "spa" i LOVE this line of shampoo, but i did do a few things differently. i cut the big sign in half as it read "add a spa package today" the brochures all had "add a spa package" written on the inside bottom left side, i took a pair of scissors and cut about 1/4" off the bottom of the page and on the back i preprinted labels with my shop name/number and stuck them to it and then put them in the vets/pet shops. the final thing i changed was the layout of the display that showed the different types of packages/prices. i'll tyr to post a copy of what i use, but all in all i will stay with this line, the customer service is great too.

I think the spa terminology is the way to go. I recently changed my name to include the word spa. It's still taking some time but the whole industry is moving in that direction. Spa makes it sound more high end. It sounds better to clients. And your prices should reflect that as well. You can check out my sisters website for a few ideas. We are still working on it, but it's getting the word out. www.lepawchic.com

We are a "SPAW". I use the blueberry facial from a different company. I have tried the Tropiclean line, how does it clean? Smell?

Thank you for the ideas. I am thinking of doing like you did h2h. But how did you go up on your prices without upsetting the "regulars"? Or maybe I should ask how much did you go up? I am also thinking of getting rid of my "add on services", but some of my customers love them. I would like to offer more personalized service, I mean, I already do, but even more so. I ordered the Starter kit, but will probably be ordering the big kit soon and try to get things in order.
I feel like I made a mistake by already posting that I was having a $3.00 price increase. I thought of taking it down and then putting a new sign up in a couple of weeks. What do you think of this? I really want to get my place to where I have wanted it to be for a long time. I want it to be thought of as Upscale. Or at least as Upscale as it can be for my town! But I'd rather offer a unique service than just "dog grooming".

I'm sorry that I have to ask a stupid question. What's the "spa treatment" you guys are talking about? What's different from "bath and brush"? Is it just a fancy way to call "bath and brush"?

The total concept for my new salon was spa. Thats the whole image we are working around with the floor plan, the pricing, what items we are going to sell ect. Im also going to use the Spa line from tropiclean. A groomer friend of mine has their starter package and i love the way they smell, the fresh scent is my fav(jasmine and vanilla I believe)
And Im going to offer high end collars and leashes, treats, toys and food.
Its really the only way to compete these days.

The Spa Treatment I'm talking about is using the Spa Lavish Your Pet line from Tropiclean. It is a shampoo and conditioner, a Paw treatment and a Blueberry and Vanilla facial. I guess you could say it is a fancier way of saying bath and brush, but a little more is included.
