Why are post times listed?

Why does it list on the right 1 hr ago and so forth, I read some of those ages ago. Best observation is when I know my oost was longer ago. How does that work? signing off 9:35PM Thurs.

The time is for the last reply in that thread. So if you read the thread yesterday, and the time says one hour ago, it means someone has posted a new reply since you last read it. Make sense?
