I got a call todya for a cat that is used to being groomed. She is a persian who matts around the neck, due to the collar. They have her shaved down in the winter with a #5. Now my question is how to I blend this with the legs to look natural. What shears are best???

I shave cats all the time and I shave the leg down to the elbow and leave "booties" on the feet. I have to say that I have never heard or seen a cat's body shaved and the legs left natural and scissored. I do shave 1 cat only around her neck where her collar goes so the owner does not have to deal with matting. The cats hair is so long that you can't really tell its been shaved around the neck. -
A #4 will really help and then finish with scissors. I have seen the most sucess that way.Comment
