  • Oh What A World... (Long)

What a day I had!!! I didn't sleep very well last night, so that didn't help... I was on time for work but my two friends graduated, so they wern't there and my other friend who is a groomer wasn't there eigher. I was was up to 5 dogs/ day which is really good for me but this past week I have only been getting in 4, which really sucks. Every time I try to speed up it seems like I slow down. Anyway, the first dog I had was a Springer (5F all over) and did really well on him but it took me two hours to do it ... While I was taking his whiskers off, I caught his lip with my thinners... it bled, but not a lot. Next I had an 80 year old, blind Shih Tzu. She was good... till I did her nails and ears and she bit me. Then in the tub she freaked out. I kept a hand on her and talked to her but it didn't help. After she was dryed she was good. The third dog I did was a miniature poodle (7F Lamb w/ Clfc/Rnd ft.) I LOVE doing poodles but every time you got near his feet he would bite. On top of that he weighed about 40 pounds so he didn't like to stand so I had to manually stand him up... he didn't like that... I got bit a few times. Because he wouldn't stand, my patern was a little crooked (but I fixed it). The fourth dog I did was a P.I.T.A. and boy was he ever!!! He was a cockapoo who bites for EVERYTHING!! Even through the muzzle!!! Not only did he bite but he was like a monkey swinging from the trees as well!!! The owner wanted clean feet but that didn't happen so we just scissored his feet real short and hoped for the best. My instructor had to finish the dog cuz I was about to loose it. Meanwhile, while she worked on Psychopants, I helped a student do nails on a fiesty lab-x. Well, he didn't like his nails done eigher and wouldn't ya know, I got bit again!!! In the prosses of fighting with him, I managed to cut one of his nails way, way to short and it bled all over. By this time I just wanted to get out of there, so the instructor told me I could go. While I was cleaning off my scissors, I sliced my finger open... more blood... It started to get icy out during the day and ppl were really stupid on the e-way on the way home. The latest today was that my just mom told me that I am no longer on her medical insurance and I need to find my own asap... yippy. Well that was my day... Def. looking forward to tomarrow (maybe)!!! On the bright side, I got my paycheck today which will come in handy for my trip to Florida. Well G.T.G... American Idol is on!!!

Wow. One of those days where you wish you'd just stayed in bed. I hope things look better for you. I know what being w/o health insurance is like. Of course, since I never get sick, I went with a cheaper plan last year. Whaddya know, I get a root canal and crown, Mono and I forget what else. I'm upping my plan as soon as I can afford it! So good luck with that too!

Hey your day couldn't have been as bad as mine --I was fired and so was my husband. And yet I am still in a good mood. Hmm does that say anything about how much a loved my old job. LOL. I was there 5 yrs hubby 3 but they found out I had a website and would soon open my own bus. And as for my husband well he designed the website. So I hope my bad day makes you feel better about your day. And BTW don't take getting bit so much. You don't have to groom agressive dogs. And you are still in school? They really should let you groom aggressive dogs with out help. Your fingers are how you make your money, take care of them and they'll take care a you.

Wow I hate days like that! I'd recommend a groomers helper, it will greatly reduce the number of dogs that nail you...As long as you use it! My worst dog bite since grooming was my own fault because I didn't hook the dog up.

But attitude is everything, so lets think positive!! Tomorrow WILL BE BETTER!! Maybe tonight will be better if we give it a chance!!

You need a Groomers Helper!! www.groomershelper.com

I can't believe they let you work on naughty dogs like that in school. I suppose you can "learn" from it, but when I was in school, I wanted to learn to groom, THEN deal with the naughty dogs. NOt both, LOL.

At least you've got a positive attitude about it all, lol.
