  • Two Pet Clients Passed

Today I am saying goodbye to Casey, a Maltese & Tara, a Poodle. I groomed both last Friday. First time I had both my oldies the same day. They both were very good for their last grooms.
They are the last of my oldies.
I'm going to miss them both very much...

So sorry. Even when they're not our own we still miss them when they are gone.

      That's so sad

Were they both sick and had to be put down? Did they have you give them their last haircuts? I'm sorry, it's hard to watch anyones animals get old and struggle.

I'm so sorry Jen. They are our little friends too. It's so hard.

They were from two different families. Coincedentally came in the same day for grooms last Friday. Then Tara was gone Tuesday, Casey Wednesday.
Both have been ill for a long time, both over 16.
Tara, oh my gosh she came in every 2 weeks. She barely opened her eyes anymore, could barely stand. Casey had a terrible cough (congestive heart failure) but was such a good boy.
It's so sad when they go, they are the last of my oldies. They all passed in the last 4 months or so.

It's very sad, but at least you knew it was their last. I groomed mine and then the next day we had to put her to sleep.

Jennifer, do you feel glad you were able to see them one last time? That is what went through my mind, "Thank goodness you got to see them one more time." Sorry to hear of your news, I hope the owners are making it ok.

Yes I was glad I got to see them one more time. I felt it could be anytime for Tara, she was so bad for so long. I really felt badly for her. I think she was very overdue, but her Mom just couldn't let go.
Casey hasn't been well for a long while, but not really bad until about a month ago. He was always so good for everything. He is usually a Saturday dog but his Mom wanted to get him in & clean, he'd been at the vet all weekend the week before. So it was very odd to have both Tara & Casey the same day. I didn't know for sure it was their last grooming, but knew any grooming recently 'could' be their last.
All of my senior dog clients are gone now, they have all died within the last 4 months or so. It's sad.

I'm sorry it's really sad to have so many pass at once. You get so used to having them around it feels like losing your own. It's nice you made them feel better though and got to see them before they went.
