  • Canned cat foods and thiamine

My take on this research is that it's a concern for cat owners who feed their cat just one type of food AND that food happens to be canned. Choosing a "pate" increases the risk of deficiency. Most of the owners I know feed their cats both kibble and canned, which is what I do too.
    Winn supports some useful research.

I feed completely raw with a whole prey twist (frozen day old chicks, quail and rat fuzzies).

I supplement using Missing Link Feline, additional taurine, lysine and probiotics.

My client's diets range from raw-food to "day-old-kibble-in-a-bowl with a side order of dried-out-looking canned food".
