  • Slicker Brushes

I have to say, I love my LesPooch brushes. I have them in every size and color for every need. But, the other day one of our groomers came in with a Chris Christiansen brush and I loved the way it fit in my hand. It made me curios about what else am i missing?

I use a Universal in the tub for undercoat.

I've always used Universal, no other brush seems to have enough guts! They sure don't have any cushion to the handle, though!

I just use Pawbrothers with the hard bristles and am happy with them. I have never used Les Poochs, but have heard wonderful things about them. I don't do extensive dematting either, and tend to push hydroclipping and starting over with the coat if I can't demat within about 30 minutes.

I use Les Pooches brushes. I did have a CC slicker brush but the thing fell apart after I used it a for a while. The handle at the base came loose and i tried the glue gun on it and it didn't work well so I tossed it.
Thats just my experience. It was probably a bad batch, I seem to get enough of that..
I have better luck with the Les Pooches they last a long time and I use them everyday on everything.

I've had problems with the Universal's handles snapping on me and the others in the shop. My soft slicker died (not Universal, but a petsmart purchase many years ago) and I need to get a new one. Granted, I still use the universal, but I'm always looking for a new type.

I have always used plain ole slicker brushes....Universal and other brands.....but I need to find something else that is more ergonomic. My and hand get sooooo tired and crampy feeling really quickly now. Another sign of age...sigh.

Shelia, I know what you mean. But with poodle feet. I use my clippervac on feet and faces but my hands are not like they used to be. Its easy on the ones who behave but the ones who are a bit of a struggle, my hands cant take it anymore. I'm only 32! Then they are crampy with everything else the rest of the day.
I do see my chiroprator on a regular basis. He adjusts my wrists all the time. Really helps.

I was at a seminar that Jodi Murphy did and she reccommended MircleCoat's slicker. I think thats the name of it. I bought one and it does do a great job with mats and knots. Its kind of stiff. I liked it and I think I will be buying another. Also its all plastic and rubber so if it gets wet it won't rot.

I use a Universal for my messy work. While the dog is being finished i use the Slika brush. It is the blue one made in England. If i have a groom that used a 5 or 4 then i will blow dry with a CC pin brush. I use a human dryer since i groom in peoples homes.
