  • show season naturals (shampoo)

In Atlanta I got samples of their new "green grooming" line of naturals shampoo. Has anyone used them, and if yes what are your thoughts? Also, I've been trying to find the product but can't. I've found vendors that sell Show season, but am not finding the "Naturals" line.
don't find yourself up a creek without a poodle.

Show Season has always been a wonderful company to deal with. On the rare occasions when an order has been incorrect, they have immediately fixed the issue--and let me keep the "wrong" gallons to try out, most of which I've loved and ended up purchasing. So maybe it wasn't such a "mistake" sending the wrong item....

They also ALWAYS include sample bottles of any new products they've come out with since my last order. I absolutely LOVED the "Hard Candy Christmas" cologne they sent me last time.

I personally like starter packs. Gives a bit more of a feel for what the product is like on different pets. Rather than a tiny sample bottle.
Though I've never known anyone to have sample bottles and not use them as samples. Kind of funny LOL

Some of the companies will do a 5-for-$10 deal on 12-oz bottles at the trade shows so you can try the shampoos for a low fee. I would guess, though, that others would match that if you were to ask.

Suppliers finally went to 2 oz. samples and then starter packs. Its just a fact of marketing. I agree with you, Jengroomer, starter packs are better and give you a fair appraisal of the product. Many suppliers will send you a sample if you request by phone or email though.
I've never heard of groomers collecting samples, OR selling samples on their shelves. That actually strikes me as kind of funny, makes me laugh!
But I can see if a groomer tried samples and didn't order, possibly they did not like the product.
But to sell them? That sounds like a joke LOL

Anyway I'm the one that'll walk around the trades shows and never think to pick up or ask for a sample LOL

Plus I'll admit, I hate carrying stuff around!

Hi All I'm new here. I have worked in a grooming salon ( a receptionist) where some of the groomers went to a trade show and collected samples of products and sold them in the salon. So of course they made money off a free bottle of whatever. I was only a recptionist at time but I did know that was inappropriate. Of course the owner didn't see a problem with it and the girls made the money off it. Obviously I don't work there anymore. I am attending school to become a groomer. I am almost done with the course and have a job lined up when I graduate.

You all are great and I have learned so much just reading your posts.

I guess I'm naive. I can't imagine. Funny how the groomers could sell things in the salon, not the owner?
Oh well, shame on them for doing so.
It just suprises me that's all, I've never heard of anyone doing that.

                            Hi Jengroomer,

I too was surprised, but I guess anything is possible. I wasn't really happy there because I saw alot of things I didn't agree with, and that was just one of them. Anyway, I am off to a good start and learning tons from all of you. Thanks!

I've been known to GIVE a client a sample bottle I picked up, but never even considered SELLING one. It's usually a specialty-type shampoo that I'm not going to use "regularly". The dog has some minor skin issue and other specialty shampoos may or may not have worked, so I'll tell the owner, "I talked with this distributor about Fluffy's skin, and he gave me these samples to try. I used it today, and he recommends using it weekly for 4-5 weeks; I'll do it for ($X discount), or you can take the sample home and try it. If you like it, I'll order some for you...."
