  • those noisey k911 dryers

i have been a member on another board for awhile and i just wanted to share some of my "findings" with you guys. i put my k911 dryer inside a big plastic/insulated ice chest. i cut a hole out for the hose/cord and another hole for the air vent/with a screen over it. my dryer has been inside this ice chest for almost 5 years with no problems, just make sure you cut out the holes. my dryer sits under my tub and i can even talk on the phone while using it this way.i've got a few other "ideas" i'll share in another thread. happy grooming to all.

You don't have any trouble with overheating?

no because the ice chest is about 6" longer and taller than the actual dryer. i have had it like this for almost 5 years and so far no problems.

k9's make noise???? lol I must be getting deaf or already there lol
acually thats a good idea, unfortunately my k911 is mounted to a track on the ceiling I dont think it would hold an ice chest.

          Picture Maybe?

I am having trouble picturing this? Do you mean a cooler like you would take to the beach? Could you maybe post a picture of it?

yes that is the type i use. tell me how to put a picture on here and i'll do my best. you will be amazed at how much quiter the dryer is, just make sure to cut out two holes on each end. one for the hose/cord and the other for the air vent over the end of the dryer.

So you have to open the lid to turn it on and off?

well silly me i forgot to add the part about how i turn it off/on. the cord is plugged into the wall that has an off/on switch and that is the way i do it. i do have to lift the lid to go from one speed to another, but i hardly ever use the high speed unless i go outside to blow the hair out. you can also plug the dryer into one of those foot/air switches and have that plugged into the wall.

That's a good tip. I am looking for a way to quiet a dryer or buy a quiet dryer,

i cut a hole out for the hose/cord and another hole for the air vent/

Great idea!!!! How did you cut the holes? Did you just crazy glue some screen over the air vent hole?

                    Thanks for posting that one!

i used a jigsaw to cut the holes and this type of ice chest has several "layers" of insulation that i was able to stick the screen in between. this really has cut down the noise level soooooooooooooooooooo much. hope it helps some of you.

I just wear earmuffs that you might wear at the shooting range. $3 and they work very well---very comfortable for me.
