  • Std. Poodle for certification

I attended a great workshop today really showed me the difference in a std. pet trim and a show trim, so I tried my best, it is frowned upon to use snap in combs so everything is a full scissor, only used a clipper for his face and feet. It is very difficult to get no scissor marks on his legs but still show off the angles.

    What do you think?

Could you post a profile pic? It is hard to tell without seeing the profile. Looks good from the front! It just irks me when they frown on using the snap ons because after all, this new technology is supposed to make our jobs easier, isn't it?! Isn't it really about the finished product, no matter how it got that way???

        Nice

Poodlegroominggirl. A lot of grooming of poodles and such can be individual style. Your picture is the first topknot that looks like I do and prefer. I don't understand not using snap ons either, as so many groomers almost always use those. I guess it's to show good scissoring proficiency, but heck many talented scissorers still use a snap on first.
Money will buy you a pretty good dog but it won't buy the wag of it's tail.

Very pretty. That's gotta be the "roundest" topknot I've ever seen, lol. It's my weak spot, that is for sure.

I think the dog looks nice, very nice, I'd like to see a profile as well.

                Poodle Profile

I only took a couple of pics but here they are, I was supposed to do a puppy show trim, but normally I just do what I call a town and country clipped body and scissored legs, I didnt have enough hair growth on the back of the neck and my tail was off, it was a great learning experience looking forward to more workshops and seminars.

What workshop did you attend? Can you tell us about it? Was it for poodles only? Who ran it? Was it a 1 day workshop? Where was it? Love your topknot!
