She is adorable. Great groom job too. Her name just doesn't seem to quite fit her, she needs something like Daisey, Gracie, you know something girly JMO. She sure is cute though.
She is a cutie, and those bows look sooooo cute in her ears.
I agree with Scoop, her name doesn't quite fit her. I think you should tell the owners that she needs a different name. hehe They'd love that wouldn't they now. lol

I know, start calling her Dakota Sue...hehe..it's still Dakota w/a girly add on. I think I groom her son, his name is Bing. I am going to try do download his Christmas pict. BTW she is a real cutie!
Nice groom Tammy - She's a CUTIE! Gotta love these little dogs...They look especially hugable after being groomed. As for the name, I have a girl cousin named Dakota...With names anything is possible these days. One of my son's friends, who's a boy, is named Kelly. I also have a girlfriend named Micheal. It looks like when people are naming their poochies they're using the same free for all method of names for them as well. (Oh & I see we have the same grooming arm Tammy - I love it btw!)

WOW, they do look alike! Cute dog!!!
EVERYBODY: Yes, I agree, Dakota is not a good name for her, I always forget if she's a boy or girl when she comes in, and try to hide that from the owners, lol.

Yes, that grooming arm is the ONLY thing I really think Master Equipment does well, lol. It is one sturdy bugger!
Thanks you guys, I have to be honest, I'm now proud of my shih tzus. I used to struggle so much with their little faces (and still do on occasion), but the more I practice, the better I get, and so I'm happy that they're now "acceptable" enough to post for all to see. Thank you again for allowing me to share!
Very nice, round, small, clean and most important-cute. Shih Tzu is a tricky breed to groom, one can turn out very lovely or very ugly depends on its groomer. I feel so safe that I am nowhere near by you...lol

JJ (you're still JJ to me), I've seen photos of your grooms and I think you do a much nicer job than me. I can pick apart this shih tzu in the pictures above, but I figure the over-all look is fine. The ears don't look even in the photo, but they were on the dog (I TRIPLE CHECKED), so I don't know how that happened. Unless my eyes are on crooked, lol.
I am sure its ears were even, and that Shih Tzu will bring you lots, tons of other Shih Tzus to you. I found the best way to make sure a Shih Tzu's ears are even is to SHAVE THEM......ha, ha, ha. I groomed 4 Shih Tzu, 2 Malte, 2 Shih Tzu/ Bichon mixed, and 4 other dogs, what a good day. It is a nice way to finish my day by seeing your photos. Truely lovely job.

Ooooh, is that how you do that? I'll have to try that next time, I'm SURE the owner wont mind a bit (NOT!). Thank you again, JJ.
I have a once a week shih-tsu I groom. I think he turns out pretty good (sorry, not ready to put my grooming pics out there yet), but I have a lot of trouble with his cheeks. He has these cowlicks (did I spell that right?) that I just can't seem to get rid of. I use a 1/2 comb, and then try and blend with my thinning shears, but they never look smooth. Any tricks?
