  • Cairn Terrier

    Hello,

This is the only Cairn Terrier that I do and he was the first one I did a few months ago now he is a regular. His owner likes him short and his ears compleatly shaved as they never stood erect. I did a 4F to his body after carding most of the undercoat out(he has a super soft coat due to years of clipping) and I did a 1/2" snap on comb over a 10 blade on the skirt and legs and head. and scisored him up to neaten him.

We do not get very many terriers here so they are not my strongest group of dogs but I am pleased by how he came out.

He is cute! You did a nice job! One of my regular Cairn clients is WILD!!! I would love to be able to card him, he has a great coat and it's not too soft yet from clipping. But it will get that way. His owner wants his body shaved completely. I can't get to his feet & legs well at all, he is biting and flinging himself around like a maniac dog...He broke his hip at his last groomer. So he takes lots of patience. His owner is a sweetheart, she makes up for him. I attached a pic of him - Your Cairn is a much better groom job! Sometimes we just do what we can with what we have to work with - he's one of those dogs for me. Great job on your Cairn!

      cute and happy

He looks good to me. Unfortunately, we only have one Cairn that comes in. Her name is Sheena (lots of tumors, very old, and bites for face work). I'm definitely not the best judge here.

Thanks Nice to see others think he came out cute his momma loves him like that other groomers had only completly clipped him in the past and he is a total love to do.

I didn't think he looked much like a Cairn Terrier much but she bought him at a petshop with papers but we all know how that story goes.

Nice Job. I have only groomed one myself and he was just a puppy.

I think that you did a great job. I don't see any track marks. Your lines are nice and crisp, and everything is blended well. He's a cutie!

Mayra, I think he's darling---I love the perfect cut on his undercarriage line, too. You did good---a #4 is difficult on that kind of coat, you did well!

I have 2 regular cairns that come in, they have very wirey coats, have never been clipped and are easy to groom! Just feet, ears, sanitary, nails and they're on their way.

I have 2 others that are not quite as regular, but come in every so often. They're both quite wirey too. They don't get clipped either.

                  Great job.

I have one Cairn that I do, not a good looking dog, bad soft coat (long and silky like a Yorkie), bad temperment. The owner likes to leave her long. She also has the floppy ears. Gee it doesn't sound like I can say anything nice about this dog! I love it when she is groomed and gone home.

Thanks Tammy! It's kind of embarrassing to post it becuase of how bad his legs look, but we take the bad with the good. He does have a cute face and he doesn't mind me scissoring it so that is very helpful. His mom is ecstatic to see him after he's groomed and he struts around for her like he's king tut.
