  • Giant Yorkie Wet Shave

Today, I had the biggest Yorkie I have ever seen. He was also in really bad shape. Mom wanted him cleaned up so he could come inside, due to the cold weather. Tried to stress the fact that he needs regluar grooming, felt like it went in one ear and out the other. Any hoo,,, here he is, in the tub, after the bath, during the wet shave and,, omg,, there was a dog under all that mess,,,lol! He was so dirty, I had to re-washed him after I shaved him down. He behaved most of the time, but once I got him clean & dried, he started with the "don't touch my terrier toes dance",, I ended up cutting MY FINGER, trying to trim his feet.

He turned out really cute! You did a great job.

What's wrong with people? Why would anyone keep a little Yorkie outside? Grrrr....

Glad he's clean & allowed in the house now.

Aww, that poor little guy. At least he'll be indoors, and he feels better now! His face reminds me of a Schnauzer, I love that on Yorkies. Very handsome!

                  Great job

Why oh why do some people get nice dogs that are COMPANION dogs and stick them outside to live?? Are they insane, or stupid, or what??? And I firmly believe that a life like that is equivalent to a person in jail being kept in solitary confinement, since the dog usually has no company. Drives me nuts...

Rudyroo, I've never ever "wet shaved" a dog how'd it go? Did you find it better? Just wanted to know as I've never tried it?

Wet shaving is the best thing since the invention of white bread,,,lol. Other wise, I'll still be sitting there sawing at those mats. Once you get the dog clean and while the coat is damp, it comes off like melted buttter, my clippers were just sliding thru the coat. As I was clipping the hindquarters the smell was really bad as the coat came off, and he had a few hot spots. So, after I was done, I put him back in the bath and let him soak in oatmeal shampoo for about 5 mins. Try and find the blog about wet shaving from Deb Hilly, who writes the Groom Smarter blog. I tried to find it for you, but don't remember when she posted it, is how I learned.
