  • poodle makeover---the best I could do

This is jojo...The last time I groomed him was in September, and just groomed him again 2 weeks ago...no grooming in between....He was a mess, but they wanted those poms on his legs. I did what I could with him. They had chopped off his topknot, so I didn't have much to work with, and his poms are a little too far down, but there were some mats I just couldn't get out. He was such a good dog... another neighbor.

Awww, Jojo looks really good Furry! When I first saw the before pic, I thought geez...Poor dog and poor groomer. But you sure made him look fabulous...Are you sure you aren't hiding a magic wand in your van? GREAT groom girl!! Even with the super duper short tk - he still looks amazing!

I think that he looks great, especially is he was in bad shape. His hair is nice and fluffy, and the poms are nicely scissored (still a weak point for me, lol, don't get many that want it). Even the top knot doesn't look bad short like that, (don't you "love" it when they chop on it). Nice job!

Did I read this right? You groomed him in Sept and then again just 2 weeks ago?? Boy if that is right he sure did get in bad shape in just 2 weeks!

You did a good job with what you had to work with. Don't ya just hate it when the owners start putting scissors where they don't belong.

I think jojo looks terrific. She is a cut little poodle underneath all that hairy mess.

Furry, am I seeing that you have 360 degree access around your table? Or is that just the camera angle?
Great grooming btw. He's really cute.

Unfortunately, its the angle. I only have access to the 3 sides. I do have my grooming arms on the ends of the table so I can use my groomers helper the best way. I have the larger table top which is great for big dogs. I would love to have total access to all sides....oh well, guess I have to trade up to the elite! lol

I think Pixie is thinking you groomed the dog in Sept., then 2 weeks ago, and now "today" in the photos. But I think you meant that these photos are from 2 weeks ago, right? It confused me at first but I just assumed these photos were taken a couple of weeks ago.

The poodle looks GORGEOUS, with or without "what you had to work with," I think you did a nice job. The topknot was probably easy to do because there wasn't much of it! At least they can't accuse you like they did Helly. "The topknot just fell right over!" lol

Doesn't it just break you heart when these poor dogs come in looking like this?? I've had at least one of these jobs every day this week. I'm so glad it over for now, as it's gotten me so depressed. I actually about cried when I sent my "makeover" client home today, because I knew it would just be stuck back out in the "lot" to live until next year! Poor standard.

You did a fantastic job !!!!
