  • Strange Haircut!

Have you ever seen a haircut like this on a Shih Tzu? (the 'before' haircut)
I've included one before the bath, one after bath and one after I groomed the dog per the picture the owner brought in. The After is in the next post...

    strange haircut

Nice job of grooming, but wierd haircut. Looks like he's wearing flared pants.

I had to laugh when I saw these pics - he looks like he's wearing bell bottoms. Too funny... And nope I've never seen a groom like that.

I have never seen a Shih groomed like that, but I used to groom 2 Tibetan Terriers, like that (owners request). They were very cute. Sadly, they both were put down on the same day (health issues). I used to groom them weekly. I loved those two and my Tuesdays still are not the same without them.

Nice job on the groom. I saw it in the other thread.

            I've heard of groomers

purposely doing "bell bottoms". Sure looks like that. Kind of fun for a 70's kind of owner.
Money will buy you a pretty good dog but it won't buy the wag of it's tail.

              That's too funny

As my co-worker would say oh well you don't have to look at the dog every day it's not going home with you. Did the one happen to mention where she found the picture?

I debated about answering this one. I see quite a few of these. The former owner of the business groomed some this way, the people like it. That one is very grown out looking...Do the feet like show cockers feet. I actually like the look

I think some of my customers would like this, they want a full coat shihtzu but can't keep up with it, so we grow/strip/grow/strip! LOL Maybe if they just had to brush legs they could learn to brush. hmmm Glad you replied, maybe I'll suggest it, cuz I think it's cute! I do a few shihtzus that get a long cocker type pattern with longer legs & skirt and a full shihtzu head. Many people can keep up with the brushing this way esp. with a false skirt. It's boring compared to this cutie!

Here is a picture of one of the Tibetan Terriers that I groomed. Not the best picture, he didn't like his picture taken. He is one of the two that had to be put down.

I think it looks very funny. You did a great job, but the legs and feet are hilarious!

WOW, what a funky cut! I feel like the dog should rip open his shirt to show his chest hairs and belt out "You ain't nothin' but a hound dog!!!!" like Elvis, since he's "Dressed" like Elvis, LOL

Suh ShiI used to do a shi Tzu every other Week

I used to groom a shih Tzu every other week. Full to table long hair. Owner brushed better than housekeeper. two homes. One day Suh Shi comes to me with a new do from palm Springs groomer. A cocker type style. Same only on her. Short back, full legs and finally , no more ponytail. I always had trouble w/ bows on her! Grateul to groomer. owner always raved about other shop, like I wasn't as good. talked to PS groomer, she did same about ME to HER. Odd woman.

That dogs legs are at least, or look like their blended. This Shih Tzu didn't look blended at all.
