  • NDGAA Offers Dog Grooming Training in Jacksonville

An event hosted at the Green Dog Spa on Baymeadows Avenue marks the first time that the National Dog Grooming Association of America has offered training in Northeast Florida.

Run by a mother-daughter team, Green Dog Spa at 11048 Baymeadows Rd. hosted certification classes and tests on April 29 and 30.

“NDGAA has been the authority on dog grooming for over 45 years, and offers training all over the country,” said Green Dog Spa owner Erica Benson. “Until now, we’ve had to travel to other cities for their workshops.”

On Sunday, attendees watched NDGAA representatives groom an American cocker, a Bichon Frise and two terriers. On Monday, participants brought their own dogs to groom. Certifiers from NDGAA were able to critique and grade the participants’ work and give a written exam. Those who pass will be awarded NDGAA certification in that particular group.

Benson said of the 40 or so attendees, about 11 will earn their certification this round. Some attendees were already certified, and came for a refresher; others are just starting out in dog grooming............
Coordinators post updates to the message for grooming events, members contests, Classified Ads, GroomerTALK Radio shows and Magazine online.
