  • Haute Doggie is Not Your Average Grooming Business

    http://springhillhomepage.com/haute-...n-county-pets/

Haute Dogge is not your average pet grooming business.

It is a full-service dog and cat grooming salon.

The family run business cut the ribbon on its second-ever location, on 5228 Main Street in Spring Hill, Saturday morning.

James Conners, a retired Air Force and Operation Desert Storm veteran, bought the original location in January last year after hearing about it from his daughter, Jen Bartman.

The original Haute Dogge opened in 2010 at 117 3rd Avenue in downtown Franklin as a one-person dog grooming service. Bartman started out as a part-timer until deciding with her dad to buy the business and run it as a family.

Since then the place has taken off, with nine employees, two locations and a mobile service.

“It was so successful with Jen running it, we saw an opportunity and started our mobile service, Furry Friends, and we had so many customers from Spring Hill coming to Franklin we decided to branch out to the Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station area,” Conners said.

“We just like the growth and community here, and finally found the right manager, Missy Gobbel, to run our new store.”

Haute Dogge is not your average clip-and-cut, according to Conners.

They run by appointment only, and have a spa-like atmosphere with scented candles and soothing music, and lots of space.

The new location will be taking walk-ins for now. There are no cages, and every one of their variety of services is done by hand.

“We do bathing with dogs that don’t need haircuts; their nails are clipped, filed, their ears are cleaned and they are thoroughly brushed,” Gobbel said. “If they do want a haircut however, we do a bath after, and offer a variety of options and do whatever the customer wants.

“Same thing for cats. There are lots of extras like flea and tick or medicated shampoo. And all kinds of options for bathing. ”

The business is open from 7:30 a.m. to whenever they are done, usually sometime after 5 p.m.

To make an appointment or learn more, Conners said to visit their website or call 615-790-5071 for Franklin or 931-674-2255 for Spring Hill.
