Tucson - Rebecca Burke left Tucson suddenly in June, after the News 4 Tucson Investigators reported that several residents said she took money from them in an apartment scam. No one could find the 32-year old, three-time convicted felon, until we found her in San Diego in July. She was working as a groomer in a pet store.
We asked Burke several questions when she was taking a break outside the store. She refused to answer any of them. While she ignored us, Burke may not be able to ignore authorities.
The lead detective in the case tells the News 4 Tucson Investigators that Burke has been indicted by a Pima County Grand Jury for trafficking in stolen property and prohibited possession. She's not allowed to carry a firearm because she's a convicted felon. The lead detective in the case for Tucson Police, Jeff VanNorman of the Financial Crimes Unit, also says there is a warrant out for Burke's arrest. The Pima County Attorney won't confirm or deny that, saying in an email: "Unfortunately, the procedural posture of this case continues to prevent us from releasing any information to you at this time."..................
