  • Food Feast at Brookline Grooming

We're all excited when we find a new place to dine and not too surprisingly, so are our pets! Brookline's own Brookline Grooming & Pet Supplies celebrates its 40th anniversary with a Block Party for you, your family and your pets on Oct. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. Tongues and tails will wag when you and your pets check out the store's newest addition, a cash/credit-card-operated self serve dogwash.

Not only will there be lots of treats for your pets, but there will be food from two Brookline neighbors - Pure Cold Pressed and El Centro Dos. Haim Cohen and Chef Allan Rodriguez will be serving their specialties - cold pressed juices and salads and delicious Mexican delights.

Your pets will be excited as you explore the numerous food options Brookline Grooming offers for your furry friends, Betas and more. And because dogs, like all of us, may have food allergies, there are products especially to meet those individual needs. The event on Saturday will feature demonstrations of the “Evolution Dog Wash,” plus contests, activities, food, music, and vendor booths from Stella and Chewy’s Raw Pet Food, Corky’s Reflective Wear, Weruva Pet Food, 2 Dog Treats, Blue Buffalo Pet Food, Rawz Natural Pet Food, RC Pet Products, Primal Pet Foods, Vet’s Choice, Vital Essentials Raw Pet Food, Jacks All Natural Dog Treats, and IMS Pet Products. Dogs and their humans are invited to come, see and participate.

Mindy Dobrow has been one of Boston’s most respected dog groomers, widely known for her knowledge of and devotion to canine care. In 1974, Brookline Grooming and Pet Supplies was one of the first dog grooming shops in the Boston area. Looking at all the changes over the years, she declares: “During my many years in this industry, I never could have imagined the invention of a machine that washes dogs so quickly and efficiently and now I own one myself!”

The list of food items is beyond imagination, including fresh, natural vacuum packed such as fresh chicken necks, crunchy treats, choice cow tails, freeze dried beef nibblets, frozen duck and chicken niblets, beef tripe niblets, frozen duck patties, boneless ground frozen chicken, buffalo or salmon patties, and many more treats designed to keep your pets happy and please their palates.

Brookline Grooming also offers daycare - so next time you're traveling, fear not! Your pet will have a home-like, caring place to stay while you are away from home. Daycare is an important part of the business and your pets will receive attentive and responsible care.

A friend in Chicago with an upscale clientele does incredibly well selling high end foods with delivery local in town on a schedule, and grooming. Very much like this place. Does tastings and holistic products too.
