  • Chittenango groomer rescues unwanted small pets

CHITTENANGO –– The front room at Dorothy’s Grooming and Rescue is filled with the sound of squeaks and chirps from animals who have been rescued in the community.

Dorothy Agrippino, owner and groomer, said that when she moved to the area she saw a need for a place that rescues small pets.

“There were too many unwanted animals,” she said.

I've been to Chittenango, NY---I didn't have a sec. to read the article yet, but anyway, ironically the owner of the business is named "Dorothy," as Chittenango is where the author of the Wizard of Oz was born. There is a yellow brick "road" that runs through the town! Neat lil' town.

That's actually not very far from where I am. I don't get there very often. They have an Oz fest every year, with a visit from the munchkins a parade and costume contest, as well as all sorts of other festivities.
