Like most pet owners, Amy Harns confesses she's a little crazy when it come to her furry "kid," a 7-year-old Boston terrier named Lucy.
"She's my baby girl, my everything," says the 39-year-old Orlando resident.
So when Lucy developed a cancerous tumor in her throat in June, Harns quickly exhausted her $1,500 in pet insurance and $1,000 in savings, then borrowed money from her parents. But it wasn't enough.
"In all, Lucy's bills would total $8,000 to $10,000," Harns said. "I searched everywhere for help and I finally found the Magic Bullet Fund. I don't know what I would have done without them."...................
