              Hematopoiesis is the the process through which all blood cells are made. In adults dogs, most active hematopoiesis occurs in the flat bones (vertebrae, pelvis, skull, sternum,
              ribs) and in the extremities of the long bones (i.e., epiphyseal / metaphyseal regions) in the spaces between the spicules of cancellous bone.
